Is Les going to try and use this for a raise??

I do not want him gone, it'd be really tough to find a coach to get same or better production. I'll say that; but if he tries to get more money I hope the board/Alleva shut him down.
He deserves what he has but has not shown reason for a raise.

I highly doubt it and I highly doubt he would get it after this season.

Les isn't looking for a raise or another job.

I agree with this part, but we saw what he did with the arky offer.

Alleva gets fired before Les gets another raise. He would have to go to SEC/National Championship.

That's why LSU would be dumb to let him get away without making an effort to keep him.
Lucky for the LSU program, the AD and BOS don't think with the short sided minds of some fans.

quote:LSU should call his bluff because somebody definitely lied about the Arkansas job. I'd bet every dollar on me that there's plenty of coaches out there that could better the 64% SEC winning percentage that Miles is sporting the last 3 years since 1/9.

I don't know how Alleva operates, but if Miles or his agent used another job as leverage, I call their bluff this time.

If Aleva fell for the Miles to Arkansas malarkey he will probably fall for this again.

He hadn't received a raise since 2007. He won the sec, the raise just came a year later. Had nothing to do with Arkansas. We pretty much got market value. If you compare what he makes to what the program is worth, we were getting a good deal.
I know people don't like the guy but please stop with the bullshite. For the names people are throwing out there, we will have to pay them more than miles and the only one of those with hardware is Fisher. Who makes $4.1 mil and pays less taxes living in Florida. Wed have to pony up a shite ton to match that.

Raise what has he done lately but mess up.

He should....that's the way this works.

He did get a reworked contract, where he took more years and extended buyout and rollover. That is what is so bad about it. LSU is hamstrung with a contract that makes it impossible almost to get rid of him. Also, he did get more money after the NC so you and the guy who you quoted are confused.
Miles and his agent took job security over a few $100k a year. He was already one of the higher paid coaches at the time, he used a bogus Arkansas inquiry to get Alleva to push a contract that should have gotten Alleva fired. His number only looks low now compared to Saban/Sumlin's deals which were last year.

If Alleva falls for this a second time then the BOS should fire him right there on the spot. If he wants to give him incentive bases on winning SEC west, SEC championship or Natty then that's one thing but to give him a flat out raise based on last immediate performance which is what most raises are based upon would be completely assanine.

Well-Les needs to come out and announce he's not interested in any other job-Michigan included if he wants all this junk to stop!!

Agents need to get raises. How else do they get their %?? I don't know about Miles' agent, but Sexton puts his clients name out there, stirs the pot and makes a boat load of money. Agents lie to their clients and it is a big farce. Remember, that is how we got Saban. Couldn't get the client that we wanted and Sexton recommended Saban. His record wasn't great and everyone was very iffy on him. We missed the boat on Jimbo.
