Awful big responsibility IMO. I have a 22's Skeeter sitting in my driveway that doesn't belong to me. I have some great friends that's all I gotta say.

Got a buddy that lets me borrow his boat on occasion.

I'd let good friends borrow mine if I knew they can drive a boat

Yeah, I have some friends that can definitely drive boats, and others that are meant to just sit on people's laps and steer. I'd only let 2 or 3 buddies take my boat (if I had one)

That's the catch. He's my main fishing buddy and Most of the time it seems like a chartered trip on his own boat because I do most of the things boat related. Launching, trolling, anchoring, docking. He knows I know my shite so I know he don't mind but still. That's a big investment for him and I feel appreciated that he trusts me with it.

I have a select few that I would trust without me there. However, while we are fishing, If I know you know what you are doing then you can drive all you want. Elusiveporpi and I fish a lot together and know the same areas so he drives or controls the TM at times, doesn't bother me at all

I have two friends who can use my shite whenever they want and take theirs whenever I want.

Otherwise, no.

3 things a man never loans out:

1. his boat
2. his powertools
3. his wife

in that order

Yep, but I am very reluctant to borrow something like that....if something breaks while you have it, you could spend a hell of a lot of cash....

I drive other people's boats for a living. I would never borrow a friend's boat.

My dad lets me borrow these. And I'll let my son borrow mine when he's old enough and responsible enough. Hopefully I'll have a boat by then.

I would never ask and I don't want anyone asking to borrow mine.

Eta...I always put out invites though.

This actually relates to me now... I borrowed my buddy's duck boat last weekend and when I returned it to his house I noticed a 5 inch crack in the weld on the top of the bow of his boat. Idk if it was like this before hand or if I caused it. But I'm a man of my word and I told him if anything happens to it I would make it right. I have an appointment to drop it off at a welding shop Monday morning to get it fixed.

Depends on the funds they have. My cousin could use my boat whenever he wanted and I could use his. He'll he'd let me take his offshore boat if I really wanted. Both knew that if you messed something up, fix it on your dime.

Bottom line, wouldn't let just anyone take it unless they were a much better boater than me (not that difficult), or they had money to worst case buy a new one.

I've offered my boat to my friends. Most, like me, don't want to risk damaging someone's boat.
