Would fit PERFECTLY in our offense as a 3...do we have room or would we have to dump EGina?

He's not going anywhere. I think he's going to be an RFA.

Chicago has a cheap reputation that makes people think you could steal him with a max deal, but short of Gordon retiring we won't have max cap space.

Not unless someone murders EG (not that I'm advocating that).

He'll be a RFA, whatever chicago offered him, he declined, so you know it isn't the max.

If I were them, I'd hit reset with Rose and see if anyone would be willing to take him. He has 41 mil/2yr left after this season, but that might be even more difficult to get rid of than eric. At least EG never publicly said he doesn't wanna over-exert himself because he is scared of injury.

Butler is getting the max or a Parsons like contract (basically 3 years at max numbers). Unless he tries for a one year deal in order to bank on the TV deal salary cap increase.

For a player like him, taking the 1 yr contract to bank on the TV deal is too risky.

This isn't LeBron or a seasoned vet that has had an extended history of high quality play. He's grown and is producing, but if he starts to decline in play on a 1yr contract, or if he gets hurt?

Like you said, Parsons 3yr/45 would be a better option

He's going to take as many years as he can get. 4 years between $60-$70 mil. Gordon Hayward/Klay Thompson type deal.

I'm sure people thought the same of Monroe.

Monroe 1) didn't fit in his team's long term plans and 2) the market wasn't willing to overpay him. Judging by last year, the market would be very willing to over pay Butler and unless they want to blow it all up, he does fit in his team's long term plans.

Most of the time, I agree, but I'm using a hypothetical that no team gives him a 4yr/max. No one is dumb enough to turn down a 4yr/max and take the 3yr/max (I hope not at least).

If some team offers 3yr/51mil (projected cap of 68mil) or a 4yr/60mil.

Which would he take you think? Max contract will be 4yr/68mil for players off rookie contracts right (assuming the 68mil cap)

how much tread does he have left after this yr is the better question. Dude is a baller but chicago is getting their money's worth

I've had him for 2 yrs in F bball and he averages like 40 mins. He's going to start to break down early in his career; I'd bank on it.

Pretty sure he led the league last yr, and hes 2nd this yr thus far

Lebron has played 12 seasons at 40 mpg

It's not a big deal. And SI ran a piece on Butler saying how he dropped 15 lbs in the offseason and eats really healthy. Pretty sure the dude is in great shape

I think it's absurd that players are "worn out" from playing basketball 40 minutes a day. Soccer players run almost non-stop for 90 minutes. shite is ridiculous.

Can't really argue with that. Bron Bron is Bron Bron though
