Get to a spot on a wma an hour before everyone else. Right at day break a guy comes walking in. So I shine my light at him. He stops and sets his mojo up 59 yards from me. Is there any common sense left in people these days? This the second time this week this has happened on two separate wma.

I would like to believe it is just someone that simply does not know better - no one ever really took the time to explain etiquette etc......but that is probably just me being positive

Stop and talk to him after the hunt.

In Vermont, a flashlight flash means 'howdy fella, you are in a fine hunting spot, join me'

I think your visitor is from Vermont.

No way in hell I ever duck hunt a WMA. Deer hunting is tolerable but nope for a damn duck.

You're right but it's frowned upon by the wildlife agents and states in most pamphlets that you shouldn't hunt within 200 yards of other hunters.

Back in 2002 or so, I got to Russell Sage around 2 AM and set up off of Pump Road. It was me and two others. We made noise for the next two and a half hours or so and started putting out decoys around 5 AM. About that time, I voice said, "You mother frickers gonna hunt with me this morning?". I thought it was Jesus himself wanting to kill some mallards that morning.

Turns out, the guy put a climbing stand seat up out of the water and went to sleep in it around midnight. We realized it was too late to find another spot so we all hunted together that morning and all killed our limits. Weird deal.
