regardless of what happens with bebe we have to find someone that can bring north LA back under our control. The loss of north LA to Saban is a really big problem.

Alabama offered Brandon Harris and John Diarse fwiw, amongst others from the area

O was part of a great staff at USC and won a NC with Pete Carroll. Didn't seem to be a problem there?

O also has been investigated less than Les Miles. FACT.

even with keeping them at home we still have lost too many of our top players from the area. We clearly can't sign everyone since there is so much top talent in the state but it needs to be harder for teams to come in and take that talent. O could probably help but I feel like he is better in south LA

We recruited at an elite level before Frank Wilson FYI.

we just got the best recruiting class in lsu's history and most of that is due in part because of him. not saying miles isn't a factor I just think Frank is a bigger reason.

also the classes the 5 years before Frank are very similar to the numbers since he arrived FYI

His thick accent definitely makes him better in south LA.

Frank needs to stay. Bump him up another 50k. Life is a lot better as an LSU assistant than as a Troy HC

If this happens, even the strongest sunshine pumpers would tell you a decline is real..

Dude, with our game/clock management skill set combined with losing the best recruiter in the country.......

Losing Frank would ABSOLUTELY effect LSU's program negatively.

LSU can't tamper with any coaches right now, but they better have some candidates in mind to take over the NOLA region.

If Frank Wilson were to leave is it possible that we can then bring in Trooper Taylor? The guy is one hell of a recruiter, he has connections in GA and is a running backs coach. The negative would be that we dont have someone that knows LA like Frank but still would make a solid hire i think What do you guys think?

Would you not agree it would still make a good hire?

I met Frank Wilson when he was recruiting one of my students - it would be tough for LSU to replace him.

In the event that we did need to hire someone to replace Frank in N.O.-and I hope we don't- how is Jabbar Juluke doing at La. Tech? I know he coaches DBs but would he be a fit?

what are you talking about when you say "help us keep NOLA locked down." We lost 3 of the top 4 players from NO last year, two to rivals that we play every year and one to a west coast team. We also lost the top lineman in the country to our biggest rival. I believe we can do better

So 1 year proves your point, correct?

If we are going to lose him, let him go to a Troy. At least he wouldn't take any recruits away from us to Troy. Hope he stays.

If I was Wilson I would be pissed. Handing Miles all this talent, to do nothing with it.

I'd think Lashlee would be at the top of their list.

*UPDATE*

Troy will make their decision after this weekend and announce next week, possibly as early as Monday.

The new HC at Troy will be Frank Wilson or Neal Brown.
