Nothing wrong with it, but you don't sit him for having a bad game.

I think it was calculated on Les' part to shut everyone up and get his way with JJ part 2. I wouldnt put it past him....

Not for a guy who said before the game, "I was born for this". As cringe worthy as a Heisman pose against a I-AA opponent.

It was absolutely not the right time to start Harris, but it got Miles what he wanted, which was to prove that he was right in playing Jennings. It doesn't matter that Jennings is horrible, Miles picked him and Miles can't be seen as wrong, his ego is more important to him then the program. He needs to go, the fans deserve better, LSU deserves better.

Interesting how the narrative changes based on results.

Mine didn't. I said at the time it was a terrible decision. YOu don't give a young kid his first start on the road Night game at top ranked Auburn, all you're going to do is set him up for failure.
No hindsight. It was a stupid decision before and the night only confirmed it.
Yet again another horribly bungled QB move by Les.

And if Les wouldn't have started him everyone would've been bitching to no end given his performance against NM State.
When has Les EVER caved in to LSU fans or the media? See, i don't buy that crap.

his first start a QB? I've never heard this dicussed on here. Should'nt it have been at home against a lesser opponent? To many people have said something like "well, he had his chance and he blew it" Seems a lttle unfair.
No, it wasn't smart, but it was a move that should've been made when it was. The coaching staff spit the bit when they decided to essentially never let him see the field after that. Everyone knew that there was a good possibility that Harris would struggle in that game, so to essentially banish him from all playing time after it happens is a terrible way to manage a young QB.

I watched the game like everyone here and Auburn scored first and never stopped. The first three offense series by LSU were very conservative and to judge and bench Harris after Auburn game is unbelievable
What I also do not understand are the Rant comments pointing to Harris's Auburn start to say he is not ready. We basically ran the ball the first few series and were behind 17-0
Maybe we should have came out with a open playbook against Auburn. Just like Arkansas game we were predictable and tried to run the ball up the middle against a stacked defense.
It worked against Florida and Ole Miss but neither one of those teams see to be as strong now

I do not think that game hurt Harris, moreover it showed him how much more he needed to be focused. But true to Rant form, IT is the biggest excuse why the young man has not played since.
