I'm really not even sure why, but burning the flag really bothers me

Watching these people do most of the shite they are doing just makes me laugh. Mind you, not that they are destroying property and threatening violence. I'm laughing at THEM specifically for actually thinking this matters or makes any headway for their "cause" at all. I'm laughing at all the energy and time wasted on doing nothing but perpetuating the stereotype that played a part in causing the very thing they are angry about in the first place.

For whatever reason though, when I see people burning the flag it legitimately makes me angry. Always has. I don't know why, but it isn't just another stupid thing idiots do. It seems so...impossibly hateful to demonstrate in that manner. It isn't that they are burning a flag, but what it represents I guess. To take advantage of a system which is the only means by which you are capable of existing, and then turn around and do that shite is just incomprehensible to me.

Again, I know it shouldn't. I'm really not even sure why it does, as I'm not a particularly "Rah rah USA" kinda guy. It's one of the few things idiots do that I can't laugh off.

They dont care about a cause. This is just an excuse to loot/riot with no consequences.

I hate it too, but it doesn't hurt as much as long as I get to light my cigar with a copy of Rules for Radicals.

I don't think they even think that deep about it.
We are talking about the same people setting fire and destroying their own towns.

It's going to be hilarious when they get angry about it not being fixed in a timely manner with hard working tax payer money.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to do it. They absolutely have every right to demonstrate in that manner. It's just a gut reaction to despise people who do it.

But yes, I'm quite disgusted by them burning down people's businesses with the same "Social Justice Warrior" bullshite justification that they ruin everything else with. I can't imagine how I'd live with myself if I burned down someone's place of business, but I guess it makes it easier when you think "They didn't build that."

It's too bad that these idiots are doing that. They're giving flag burning a bad image. They're not good enough to burn flags.

I think your initial post was quite clear, that it was just a gut feeling that you have, rather than stating that they had no right to do it. I react the same way. It's a naturally-occurring visceral reaction. No need to back away from it or feel like you have to defend it or qualify it.

It does not make me angry. The act is sometimes justified.

An old major told me to look at it this way. You're supposed to burn the Flag when it's despoiled. The yahoos have despoiled it when they touched it. They're just following up by disposing of it properly.

Bingo.

There are a thousand wrongs that happen every day that are infinitely more tragic than a black criminal getting shot trying to assault a white cop. Imagine if the black community got this upset over every kid killed in the streets by black on black crime? What a difference could we make as a society then?

If they hate America so much, why not ship them to the ghettos in Africa? I'm sure that's what most of them want. Win-win for everyone.

yeah some groups will properly dispose a flag yearly by burning it. AKA flag retiring ceremony.
