I'm talking about the kind of people who value their political talking points more than anything else. They would rather riots break out so they can say "I told y'all so" than have a relatively peaceful resolution but be wrong.

Would you feel better if I gave some names of the usual suspects to give you some sort of tangible grasp?

Dude, you're not privy to the secret hopings of "the board"? I thought I sent you an invite to our meeting.

I must have missed this meeting on the board's consensus opinion dealing with rioting in Missouri.

This is political now? You saying that discussing rioters is a left/right issue? That's a ridiculous prism to look through.

No matter how flat you make your pancake..there are always two sides.

I find it amazing when WE do the following:

Mr. White says "Those black people are gonna go crazy and cause problems!"

Mr. Black says "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT? WHICH ONES? BE SPECIFIC! YOU ARE BEING RACIST!"

then,

Mr. Black says "Those white folks are just wishing ill on us. They are horrible for thinking so poorly of us?"

Mr. White says "Which ones of us? Be specific"

BHP says.....mirror images and ZERO progress

Absolutely

Not inherently, but it's what people have turned it into. You and I both know exactly how a graph correlating party registration with opinion of the Ferguson shooting would look. And it has very little to do with whether or not the officer was actually in the right or not (he almost certainly was).

It's such an obvious fact at this point that I wont even accuse you of having your head in the sand, you're just posting contrary to what you know to be true.

I'm really not sure why you think it's political other than you sound like you are saying that liberals want a cop to be indicted just to score a political "victory" over the "right"

Race issues always inevitably become political. Always always always. The combination of minorities being predominantly in the democrats' corner, the democrats' exploitation of them in order to gain votes and the resentment republicans have for them over that fact always comes to a head. It's a prime opportunity for race-baiters to get on TV and cry racism, and this serves to rile up the right.

This isn't about the death of Michael Brown any more so than the Trayvon Martin trial was about his death. It's all a show, a political joust with the black people of Ferguson playing the role of pawns in the political game. They'll riot, republicans will say "look at those animals, we knew it would happen", democrats will call them racists and away we go.

I'd say it's less political and more cultural. There's plenty of Democrats here in St. Louis that would fit into the "Republican" category you defined. But they're not progressives (nor are they "conservative" politically). Not sure what a good term would be that wouldn't be weighted.

I think local perception differs from the national one. When the risk of the rioters breaking in YOUR OWN windows is very real, it changes the way you think.

There's as much likelihood of rioters breaking my windows as there is in DFW. My point stands.

You said, and I quote, "on here". I took that to mean the Poliboard.

The OT is a much more satirical, bullshite place and I almost never go there. I have no idea what is said there.

Indeed.

And I'm even talking more strictly than that. My original comment is that nobody I know personally thinks/feels that way. Of course there are racist scumbags in the world. I just don't happen to hang out with any of them.
