What is a typical price for a 2 story 3600sf home?

Dual units and all new duct work.......

Honestly, I'm thinking $25k......replacing duct work in between floors would be pricey I'd suppose.

I'm not in the business, but I can honestly tell you that the high effeicency units pay for themeselevs if you plan on staying in the home.

The ROI is fairly quick.

when we do commercial estimating on this work, we are are 1 ton per 400 SF and $1500 per ton.

Earlier this year I paid 12k for a complete Trane 14.5 seer 4 ton system. This was a typical 1 story house with easy attic access to run everything. Opted for their best insulated ductwork. This was with a gas furnace if that matters. Also, it is a basic single stage unit. It came with a 10 year compressor warranty, 2 year labor. I know your 2 story house is much different, but maybe that'll give you some idea. I would think in your case at least 25k for anything decent.
