Seriously. I can't even imagine a team making it twice in a row in the West... Oh shite. Damn Spurs...

And it took a herculean effort from SA to do it. You know how big of a Spurs fan I am, and even I ain't picking my boys to make it out the West a 3rd straight year. They'll have to surprise me.

Put MIA these last 4 years in the West and I'd be surprised if they made it out more than once.

.does Lebron Opt out himself and leave? T

He didn't exactly shut the door on that one. But where the hell would he go the next time around? There's no Clevelands out there, and new york, and lakers are dumpster fires while boston is a half dumpster fire. Of course those are the classic teams the media will be pumping up. I still have no idea where he'd go. I'd like Cleveland to fail just for that cluster to frick to happen anyways.

yep, another Lebron thread staple.

Lebron couldnt compete in the West. He seems disinterested. Bulls will win. His supporting cast sucks. Yada Yada Yada.

Maybe spoles deserves more credit than he got as a coach with LeBron, bosh more appreciation and wade more recognition for his leadership in the Miami championships.

And maybe LeBron is done winning titles. Who knows..

LeBron isn't leaving after 1 year. I don't get why people keep thinking this.

I all but guaran-fricking-tee you they wouldn't have made it out once. They had no depth. Rockets would have even kicked their arse. Who on their team matches up against Dwight or Harden? Too many good PG's in the west.

Parker
Paul
Westbrook
Lillard
Curry

No way a combination of Norris fricking Cole, Mario Chalmers or whatever shite PG Miami had over the years could have navigated a 7 game playoff series against any of those guys in 3 consecutive series. Just not a chance IMO. Pisses me off too.

I defy you to tell me it ain't true, puto. I'm not even a LeBron hater (I've defended him plenty of times on these boards).

He could compete. He wouldn't win as often with that MIA team, though. Again, I defy you to say otherwise

I'm not saying he is.

Im interested to see if that even becomes a possibility. Of course i don't think its likely.

I'll never say never, too many variables go into making the finals/winning a title (and he did beat two West teams after all).

But damn the West is so much more of a meat grinder that the lack of depth like you said would have made making 4 straight finals impossible.

Bosh, LeBron, and Wade. Plus they played a very attacking style of defense that didn't really rely on individual match ups.

They had a serious drop off last season, but the years before they were an absolute juggernaut at times.

He might come to find that organizational stability is a great thing. Having owners(gilbert) bend over backwards to have their best player as player/coach/Gm is always a dicy proposition.

I don't know where he'd go but like you said, with their contract situation, his desire to be the highest paid player, etc, what would they be left with if love leaves.

The opt out essentially gives him ownership/personnel power; "sign or trade for these guys or I leave"

It's a powerful sword for the best player in basketball to wield. He did it to miami, and cleveland in 2010, so why should I think otherwise ?

LeBron isn't going anywhere. Dude cares way too much about his image to not make it work in Cleveland.

Hypothetically, say love hates it tbere, opts out and goes to LA.

The recent resigning of Varajeo pigeon holds their cap situation to the point where theyd only have tbe MLE and could only resign their own players over the cap. Those they'd be forced to resign Tristan Thompson(who they may let walk next year), a 6'9 PF with short arms.

You have to keep into consideration what Lebron wants as well--the highest salary and contract in basketball. If he still wants that, then their cap situation is destroyed. They'd have to go with kryie, waiters, Varajeo, Thompson and bron.

Does that win championships? No it doesn't. So they had to flip their best assets for pieces. Do they trade Lebron or do they trade Kyrie? Do you trade 3
Years for potentially 10 more years?

Or does bron bounce when he sees the writing on the wall that the team will not get better? He's given himself the option to do so. He's done it before and it can't be put past him at his point

So they trade Kyrie if they can't make it work?

That'd be a bold organization move but it would be similar to wbag the Broncos did with going all in for Peyton's last few years

They have some flaws, but they aren't unfixable. It may just not happen until this offseason.

There isn't a chance in hell LeBron runs after 1 year. Think about it how you please, but he isn't leaving. He would get crucified by the entire sports world.

*****Denotes teams i think would have not been in the playoffs in the western conference. As you can see the Heat basically got byes for round 1 every year. I won't even look at LeBron's finals runs in Cleveland. Those had some bad teams in the playoffs as well.

0.0% chance this is correct. Like none.

I think it's hilarious espn is going to put every cavs win or loss front and center of their website
Why? It's perfectly logical why ESPN would do that, it would be dumb not to.

I really think they will be hovering around .500 this season but will still make the playoffs because the east is so bad.
Highly doubtful.
