My guess is because of that arbitrary AQ spot because SFA beat NW State. It's too dumb to try to give too much thought and effort to understand.

If you want to talk about puzzling committee decisions...putting NDSU #2 and UNH #1 would be like the FBS playoff committee putting Ohio State at #1 and Bama at #2. NDSU beat four playoff teams and one FBS team, UNH beat just one playoff team.
I do like how the bracket sets up for NDSU and I guess that is all the really matters. Also SLU and SHSU got screwed, conference teams shouldn't play right away.
