What were the most impactful movie moments that you can remember?

This is kind of a spin off thread. What was a movie moment you can remember that gave you chills? It could be a moment that shocked you, inspired you, gave you awe, you know, that moment that sold you on an entire movie. The ending of Braveheart, the scene in Gladiator where Maximus is riding on his horse pointing his sword in the air, I've had many. The one for me that stands out above the rest is this moment: LINK.
It was followed soon by a very dramatic scene with the Balrog and Gangalf. From then on I was enthralled with LOTR. Great moment.

And I hate this phrase...
But it's not even close...
Phoebe Fast Times... (ETA: oops)
Greatest scene (didn't expect it) - I think we talked about this for weeks...months...at school.
Obviously still talking about it.

Same movie, but the scene when he reveals himself to Commodus.

I agree. There were a couple scenes in Interstellar that were really powerful. I don't want to ruin it for others so I'll refrain from details.
I would say Cast Away. The scene were he goes over to Helen Hunt's house for the first time always got me.
Haven't see a lot of moving films in theaters now that I think about it.

schindlers list when he was leaving at the end of the movie and he realized how he could have saved so many more people instead of wasting his money on material things.
The cast away one mentioned above was great also. I always thought of cast away as one of the most boring great movies.

I agree with Seven on the opening of Saving Private Ryan.
but as a kid in the theater, before the Internet and leaked footage or info "Luke I am your father" sent shock waves through me.
