Well this board has now officially jumped off basketball, which is fine with me because there is more room on the bus now.

LSU plays Weber State in a battle for who can stay out of the last place game of the tourney. Weber State is not of the same caliber as Old Dominion. There is no doubt we should win, and if we lose, I will become quite worried. People need to understand that Old Dominion is a quality team this year and hopefully was a good learning experience for the team.

Hopefully Mickey and Gray got the message last night and come out with authority.

LSU 78
Weber 66

Need to win the rest of our ooc. ODU isn't nearly as bad of a loss as Rhode island last year

If we shoot single digit three point attempts, I like our chances.

How is Weber this year? They won their conference and made the NCAA's last year.

Yep, we can not afford to drop ooc games. We have to hope ODU is good like some say.

Early season basketball shite happens, Its upsetting though and devastating because of how bad the sec is. SEC teams have way less margin of error than other big conference teams.

I would love to see this team come out and press, I would also like to see us not take 3s unless the ball has gone inside.

Just looking at their schedule, they lost to Utah State and Illinois State. Their only win so far is against a non-D1 school.

That makes me feel better. Looks like Davion Berry was their best player last year and was Big Sky POY. He graduated.

Not even close IMHO.

I'm definitely a little discouraged, but not all is lost by any means.

I've been incredibly discouraged with what I've seen out of gray so far. He's going to have to be much, much better for LSU to be successful.

I wish LSU played with more discipline. They don't seem to run good offensive sets & they have a lot of defensive breakdowns. They have good talent but JJ's teams seem to lack cohesive play. Maybe they will gel as the season progresses. .500 in SEC would be my expectation at this point.

They strike me as a lot of very talented and skilled players who have very little idea of how to actually play basketball.

Sets or not Martin especially doesn't seem to have much sense of space on the court. It's frustrating because he is so wildly skilled. He was late to basketball for such a top pprospect though right?

29-0 is impossible now but 28-1 is still in reach

I was wondering what happened to y'all, South. Bogies at 8pm usually ends great or awful...there's very rarely an in between.

Hopefully Jones can show some coaching ability and run some set plays. Put Martin down low where he belongs, he will play a lot better. He's a pretty good free throw shooter as well, at least he was last year. He doesn't belong on the perimeter IMO. Haven't been impressed with Gray either, where is all that supposed scoring ability ? It's early, but this team looks disjointed....this is where coaching matters, hopefully Musselman can help JJ here.
