Chief and the Defense have done a really good job. I thought the DTs might struggle all year, but they have definitely upped their game. Lamar Louis is playing the best football of his career lately. He had one of the plays of the year when he put a charge into O.J. Howard and then forced the fumble vs. Alabama. Ronald Martin has been a reliable veteran in the secondary, and the corners have played great. Improvements at every level.

I wonder if Chief could help Les and Cam by telling them what other offenses do that he has problems with. Anything could help at this point.

Number 50 rushing D despite the turnaround. Expect that when half of your season rushing yards on D came in three games.
Prior to the turnaround, we were in the 90s! We've jumped over 40 spots in the past 5 weeks to get to 49. We've held ever opponent, since the turnaround, to their season lowest rushing, or second lowest rushing.

All we need is a a pass rush as our current one is non existent with just 4 D-Linemen.

They spread the ball and run the QB...something we refuse to do

This is a great accomplishment for the D, considering LSU's offense probably produces more 3 and outs than any other sec team.

Chief has done a great job once he inserted obviously more talented players in critical positions over the second half of the season. 52 and 33 made a huge difference.

Want to bet the teams ahead of LSU had just as many cupcakes?...
And a lot of the teams also ARE cupcakes that only play other and worse cupcakes.
ETA: although I was thinking of the offensive rankings when I wrote that, looking at the D rankings it's still pretty true for at least 3 or 4 of them.

what's our average without the cupcakes?
It probably jumps a bit but I'm sure every other team above & below us does too. Are you tryin to say LSU is the only team in the NCAA that plays "cupcakes"?

What's evreryones average without cupcakes dipshit? fricking idiot everyone has cupcakes.
LSU still did well against Wisconsin who just ripped Nebraska a new a-hole on the ground. And don't give me that heisman back got knocked out bs. LSU D can stop a one dimensional offense, regardless who the back. Wisconsins backup back had over 100+ rushing against Nebraska as well.
LSU's D is even more impressive considering how many 3 and outs the offense has had, giving them no rest.

I'm pretty sure if I had the time we can go back and find all the same usual suspects that are out celebrating and beating a dead horse with negative miles talk were also there in the early part of the season feasting on Chavis.
Your comment is definitely misguided. But I know you are jaded because not everyone thinks Miles can't turn things around.

Having to trot back out before even catching their breath due to our crappy offense has to be demoralizing. And tiring. Props to them for playing their asses off when the other side of the ball is such an utter failure and when our shankopotomous punter seems to keep leaving short fields.
