The latest figures actually give the ATS-V a hair more power than first believed, with 455 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque pumping out of the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6. With a standard electronic limited-slip differential keeping rear wheels in check, Cadillac claims that the model sprints to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 185 mph. Buyers have two transmission choices that both offer launch control: a six-speed manual featuring Active Rev Match and no-lift shifting, or an eight-speed automatic.

Saw these on display at the Galleria in Houston. They looked real nice, although I wasn't impressed with the leather in the interior.

LF4 vs S55B30. Curious to see which engine comes out on top.

It's just a powerful car. The M is an instrument of speed on a twisty track.

No price set yet, but I've heard speculation of the $55k to $64k base range.

It will need to be cheaper than the M3 for it to have a real shot. It's certainly doable.

Would rather a Hellcat or 15 Charger/Challenger SRT.

The same was said about the Camaro Z28 and it beat out the 911 Turbo S and GTR on the track.

Except that you don't buy an M3 because it has straight line speed. You buy it because no other sedan, domestic or foreign can claw its way around a track as gracefully or as fast as the M3.

supposedly this M3 has taken a step backward in track capability compared to the E92. Yes, it's brutally fast, but it's heavier and with so much more torque it has a knife-edge personality if you're trying for a clean lap while riding the absolute limit of grip. It'll snap to overseer in a heartbeat.

They already have the platform. The Regal has a twin turbo V-6, AWD, and manual transmission in Europe.
