Yeah.. LSU has a terrible track record of putting receivers in the NFL.

Where in the post did he say anything about putting receivers in the NFL?

It has nothing to do with LSU putting WRs in the NFL. aTm had a top pick last season as well. It also had nothing to do with Quinn or Dupree. He is a very confident kid. And if he went to aTm in the spring and came away with the starting X position, that tells you he knows football, is willing to compete and can play WR with the best of them. I still feel that he would have beat out Quinn....just my opinion.

But the REAL truth, as the posters have said, was the miss on Ellis and the Landon Collins fallout. Ellis and Ellis' family is like family to Speedy. Even though Frank is his actual family, all the other factors were too much to overcome.

Does Sumlin let him wear his "gold" watch at practice?

I thought we lost Speedy cuz he was getting slow played by LSU in favor of Dhaquille Williams, Speedy wasn't feelin it and when Dhaquille switched to Auburn it was too late to get back into Speedys good graces.

didn't like lsu
didn't like our offense
allegedly offered a blind eye to drug testing
wanted to get out of nola
played LSU and Uncle Frank like a fiddle
A&M was not the preferred place for him to go by his family but he went anyway
he and willlis were from rough areas and wanted to get out of state.
they had no allegiance to LSU or the state
good luck to them in their future endeavors
noel ellis jr and senior were in his ear constantly negging down LSU in public and private.
Ellis wanted to come here but we didn't want him.

It has nothing to do with this. Soeedy is going to the NFL regardless where he goes to college. Speedy Noil could go to Sam Houston State, and he'd still go in the top three rounds. And if you think LSU put OBJ, Jarvis, or Randle in the NFL, you're nuts. They put themselves there.

Is Noel Ellis still at A&M? In that shite show of a defense he isn't getting any playing time.

First, "Speedy" Noil is big time overrated. From what I've seen, the guy is a mid 4* AT BEST according to Rivals scheme (5.9)....a 5*? In fact, he caused an INT the other week for Allen by a ball boucing off his hands/chest that was thrown perfectly to him. Is he decently fast? Yes! Does he deserve the name "speedy?" Hardly! And as far as Noel Ellis goes, my brother watches most plays of A&M...he has never even heard of Ellis. I heard of him only through his recruiting. I have watched a lot of A&M also...never seen the guy play a defensive snap but maybe he has.

Noel Ellis would be a big time bust IF he had been that highly ranked to begin with. Glad he went to A&M. Thanks but no thanks for a guy who can't even get playing time on the pitiful defense of A&M!

And both are far better athletes than you could dream of being.

Is that your big time response? Really? That Noll and Ellis are better athletes than me? I would say nice try but really an incredibly stupid and weak response. I will repeat for the mentally impaired like yourself!

1) Noil was way overrated!
2) Ellis is not even a division 1 caliber starter

Got it, Einstein?

It started with LSU not taking Noel Ellis, and instead took Logan Stokes. Didn't take Ellis, Ellis goes to A&M, Ellis family close to Speedy, Speedy is close with Gerald Willis. Some are going to bash me, but there was a trickle down effect from not taking Ellis.

If this is true, I think it is safe to say that in hindsight we made a mistake not taking Ellis. Not that Ellis was some kind of incredible talent that we could have used, he is not, but we have taken lots of marginal DB/WR's over the last few years who hardly ever play, one more would not have mattered especially if it could have helped us sign two 5 star players in Noil and Willis.

at one point it was reported on here that Sumlin told him he could try out for QB. Don't know if that happened or not and if so what the results were.
