So we can't really cover punts anymore, the most accurate kicker in the country can't make field goals, we can't successfully squib a ball, and our punt returner rarely fields punts unless it is inside the 10 yard line.

It isn't all bad news, though. We're still way better than Kentucky at special teams.

The question is simple: if we had the technology to clone humans without waiting for them to grow, how many

equal

one

In all seriousness, though, do special teams coaches matter, or is this season just a regression that one should expect from time to time. What if anything can be done to make this facet of our team a difference-maker again?

I'm done with the blame game for the next week. Sometimes players have to be held accountable as well. Dudes have been poor kicking the ball lately.

White has the ability to return with his athleticism, he makes poor decisions though. Obviously he can be coached up, but maybe its time to try someone else there. now we suck blocking kick returns and i dont know if a diff returner would change anything, but i would like to see magee get more chances there.

Im blaming the cold for the kicker missing field goals. I know it shouldn't be an excuse, but maybe hes never kicked in the cold.

not only that but the LSU players let the other teams gunners go right by them. they might as well not even be out there. WTF are they doing? to contact at all.

and that comes down to coaching...they should have sent him to Canada or somewhere to practice in the cold. miles knows that there is a chance the weather won't be ideal, so it's his fault for not preparing the kicker for every situation!

Must have been absolutely freezing when he missed that extra point against Florida, right?

I remember a time when we used to use special teams as an opportunity to force the best player on the opposition to flop and hurt himself.

Now, as pointed out earlier, we can't stop anyone's gunners.

Some people are just winners and some people just bring you down. BDP just brings me down.

Del shoud have made those kicks, he's been money all year (Florida win)but, even with his 6 points missed, still leaves 13 on the table our offense was NOT going to get to match Arky.
Just saying
