2015 is nothing like 2007 and 2011

Many keep clamoring about the "4 year cycle" for Les and LSU, but 2015 will be nothing like either of those years.

First off, 2007 followed great 2005 and 2006 campaigns, while 2011 followed an 11-2 2010 season.

Secondly, in all those seasons, LSU had a 4th year or longer player starting at QB (RS JR Mauck, RS Senior Flynn, RS Senior Lee/Senior JJ).

In 2015, we'll have a true junior that has shown little to no development, and a 2nd year sophomore with only a couple of games in total experience to date.

In 2007 and 2011, LSU had a new OC in their first year, so unless Cam is leaving, that ain't happening.

Again, just having a collection of talent that is young and gaining experience doesn't make this a championship caliber team.

That said, people should temper their expectations of this team next year. It will likely be a 9-3 or so season and if the current trend and sales pitch Miles used to land a bunch of recruits is true, we'll be losing some significant players particularly on defense following next season (all our DBs outside of Adams and Paris).

Simply put, LSU ix not a team that reloads for championships anymore, but rebuilds for a shot now and then. Be happy with what you have, because that is what LSU is stuck with for now and the foreseeable future,

It is hard to accept, and I can understand that. However, all of us are going to have to accept it anyway because it will make it much easier to handle.

I agree.

It's all on the offense next year.

You can't always count on turnovers on D and ST to score points.

LSU needs to be aggressive on O and if they make mistakes, just know you got a bad arse D that has your back.

Different coach and after starting 6-1, Mauck's injury was a killer. LSU didn't have that this year.

Playing not lose instead of playing to win .. Not developing a Qb.. Same ole shite , different year. Defense will be great .. Another 3-4 loss year .. Satisfy some .. Frusturating .. I don't want to see the LSU BOs extend his contract unless he makes the playoffs .. Just have to let this thing take its slow natural course

2011 we had Jordan Jefferson. That alone gives me hope for 2015 because our D next year will be close to that level.

LSU's D next year will be no where close to 2011 good. You are loosing Rasco, most likely hunter, most likely Alexander, and Rashard Robinson will never play another down of football at LSU. The defensive ends will take a step down next year

So we make excuses for the 'different' coach. This fanbase is total shite.

Yes we had a suspended JJ for the first 8 games of 2011, and in those games it was JL who was running a pretty potent and unbeaten #1 ranked team offense. But make no mistake, he was in only because JJ was "out". CLM used the one bad Bama game to move JL back to bench obscurity, and JJ back into starter position. Just in time for his glorious finale in 1/9 - a true showcase of his field leadership and CLM's coaching skills.

2015 LSU should have a 2011 type defense, but no QB development. same ole shite. We travel to bama and lose another close game, beat state, beat auburn but fall to Arky or tamu. same crap different year.

The end of that season and having to watch JJ is really what made me take a big step back from miles and lsu football, haven't been as into it at all since then, 2 more years of Jennings may turn me into a complete casual home viewer.

Also for all the moron pumpers, I am completely aware I will not be missed and know the location of the door.
