Twists on a Taco Soup Recipe

A few years ago, I was making Taco Soup, and I picked up a can of Enchilada Sauce to dump in to make the broth a little richer- It's delicious and I've been doing it ever since. I've also been adding zucchini to make it a little more filling.
What do you add to your taco soup that's not found in most recipes? (beef, corn, beans, taco seasoning, dry ranch dressing being "the basics")

Hominy and green chilies, black beans sometimes shredded chicken or pork instead of hamburger. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, green onions, crumbled tostada chips and a dash of salsa

Sounds good, I may have to try the enchilada sauce trick next time I make it.
The recipe I had called for corn chips crushed on top. Instead we take flour toritllas, cut them into strips & fry them--so much better!
Avocado & sour cream are a must for toppings too.

I'm trying the enchilada sauce, green chiles, and avocado ideas. Probably all at once

I top it with plain Greek yogurt

My Mom calls it "dump soup". I don't like it myself, but tons of people do. I like a little radish garnish on tortilla soups with avocado and cilantro.

Any time the wife and I do anything Mexican or Tex/Mex, we make an avocado, tomato, lime juice salad (maybe it's technically a guacamole?). A few spoonfuls of that on top of taco soup is money

I've used leftover grilled pork tenderloin chopped up before and it turned out really well. I have also used hominy before.

I like loading up with veggies. Zucinni, carrots, bell pepper, celery into the standard recipe. Love it.
