SIAP and not sure if I should post this here or on the political board? Mods can move it if they think it needs to be posted elsewhere? Just read an article on Fox yesterday that Buffalo, New York is enforcing a city ordinance that allows police to confiscate, after 15 days, the handguns of deceased gun owners. 2nd amendment arguments aside, how is this legal considering the guns are usually a part of the dead person's estate and the estate has to be probated and settled among the heirs? Can you imagine having your Dad's original issue combat 1911 Colt being seized by the cops instead of being passed down to you? It's a good thing Charlton Heston didn't live in Buffalo, New York when he died. Here's the link to the news article: LINK

It doesnt apply to long guns and you can apply to keep them.

Wth? How about I just go get them prior to funeral and you can go fly a kite.

Here lies Dad. Lost his life and all firearms in boating accident.

If that's what it took for my kids to keep my guns, I'd be proud to have it on my tombstone.
