A lot of people are complaining about Jennings, but even with every offensive skill position being an NFL player last year, we finished 10-3 and LSU looks to finish the same this year if only a game worse. So what's the deal? When do we put it all together?

And Bama skull fricked us last year. It was painful to watch. So a better qb doesn't solve it all.

Never. I would hate to imagine the 2013 offense with the 2012 defense. Championship for sure. Would have beaten UF as well as Bama and probably would have beat ND for the title in 2012. Would have beaten UGA with a better defense and for sure Ole Miss. Bama would have been a closer game, but not sure we get the victory.

Defense sucked last year. We win the title if we had the 12 defense and 13 offense together.

Last years offense + this teams defense would be the best team in CFB by a huge margin in both 2013/2014. Sometimes you only have one piece of the puzzle.

Why do people keep saying this? Sheesh. I hope we win out but chalking up 3 more potential victories(or even 2 more) as some sort of given is insanity given how bad we are on offense. We MIGHT win 2 or 3 more, but damn........

Believe it or not, our scoring D and total D were ranked higher than our scoring O and total O last year. Even with all that talent on offense, we didn't finish in the top 20 of either offensive category.

Ok well you gotta make it all relative... Most of the SEC opponents lost just as much, or more, as we did last year. If this years team went up agaianst 2013 SEC opponents, they wouldn't have gone 10-3.

And last years D was wayyyyy worse than this years D, while last years offense was way better than this years offense.. If you put 2013 offense with 2014 D, were in the Natl Champ hunt. If you put 2014 offense with 2013 D, we would be about a .500 team.

And yes a better QB would solve our problems for this year. Last year, a better D would have solved our problems. You have diff strengths and weaknesses each year. When it aligns just perfectly and you have an offense and D hitting their stride at the same time, you have a big year.

We need our defense to net get gutted by the NFL and an actual offense to show up.

Na. Most sec team did not lose over 3000 yards of offense from just the wr and rb position. Thats just not true.

QB, RB and 2 starting Wrs is pretty hard to replace.
I can't think of anyone who did that, maybe Mizzou.
A&M but they are having as many struggles as us.

We also lost both DTs which sucks because interior defense was a weakness last year even .

I wouldn't say a top 25 ranked D sucked.

Manziel was responsible for about 5k yards by himself and Mike Evans had 1400yards.

AJ McCarron threw for 3,000yards. Alabama also lost some of their best defensive players.

Aaron Murray was a huge loss for UGA.

So they may have not lost as many guys as we did, but they still lost QBs and some big time players.

And that wasn't the main point of my post anyways. My main point im was that this years LSU would struggle more in last years SEC because of the QB spot and because the SEC had a lot of veteran QBs across the conference. The OP was trying to say how we were loaded on offense last year and still went 10-3 and we may go 10-3 this year so having a better QB wouldn't solve the problem. I was just saying that last years SEC had some good, veteran QBs and it's different than this year.

And losing skill players hurt, but not nearly as much as losing a QB. Especially considering how a lot of teams in the SEC reload at skill position players. I mean it always seems like us, Bama, UGA, etc are really good at the RB and WR spot. But the QB is what drives everything for an offense.
