I just wanna say that at this moment, this is by far my favorite show to watch on television. Every single episode makes me laugh my arse off the whole time, and every single character is hilarious. As much as I always loved Family Guy, American Dad just blows it out of the water. Anybody else agree?

American Dad is much more plot-oriented than Family Guy. The South Park episode about FG was spot-on. It can be funny at times but the schtick wears off quickly.

I still think Season 2-3 of Family Guy are the best from either show, but outside of that American Dad is consistently funnier. Family Guy was pretty good last season and so far this season though.

I feel like Family Guy is show that anyone can just pick up and start watching and get a laugh without having seen an episode before. Where as with American Dad, the true humor comes whenever you fully understand the personality of all the characters

I enjoy American Dad, but I have missed a lot of episodes and don't plan on going back to watch them. I find Family Guy funnier and to date have seen every single episode.

When I was a freshman in high school I enjoyed Family Guy much more, but as a Freshman in college I find American Dad much funnier

I watch Family Guy more often, but am starting to watch and like American Dad more.
I saw an episode a week or two ago (a rerun, not sure from what season) that had one of the funniest things I had seen in either show:
The son is going to run away and is climbing down a ladder out his bedroom window. He stops and goes back up because he forgot something. He has remembered that he is going to take condoms with him, then he says to himself something along the lines of, "Can't be too careful on the road. I just pray to God I have enough time to put them on my attackers first."
Anyone know the episode and from what season I am talking about?

Love it, keep forgetting it moved to Mondays. End up being a week off catching up on adult swim.
It doesn't lose a lot of re-watch value either, where as current Family Guy loses a lot due to shock value only working once.
Much more enjoyable show to me...

My favorite one episode is still The Roast of Roger. For drugs yo, lol.
It's better than Family Guy IMO, which is saying something because I do like FG as well.
