Divergent was just awkward and bad.
Seemed rushed and tried to piggyback off of hunger games, which piggy backed off the success of its own book.
In other words, I'm sure it doesn't do the book justice, compounded by trying to capitalize off another film that didn't do it's book justice.
In other words, it was a piece of shite, and I'm sure I will see its sequel in theaters.

While I have no desire to watch it again, I thought it was comically bad in many places. The way her group always exited the train had me laughing more than once.

At the first appearance of the "Dauntless" when they jumped off the train whooping and running, I fully expected them to start snapping their fingers low and strutting to re-create the scene from West Side Story.

It was so damn stupid.

I loved the book and the movie was a huge disappointment. They did a horrible job explaining everything and the writing was just bad. I'm not going to put it on the actors because I've seen some of them in movies that I thought were pretty good.

The father was the actor who had the sword launched through his chest by Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai.
I have now seen 2 movies with him, and he is now 0-2 in being alive at the end.

The biggest problem I have with that is it isn't how the book ended at all. The whole movie just felt so cheap and rushed from the writing, directing, choreographing, and acting.

Have you seen Ghost? The one with Demi and Swayze?

Those sorts of character movements seems to be a mark of mediocre films that target an adolescent audience. Another thing about it that marked it was the juvenile, shallow treatment of symbols of cliques such as tattoos. A lot of what made it bad were things that also make it relatable to the greatest portion of their audience, shallow tweens.
The movie just is what it is.

I can enjoy bad movies. Priest isn't a good movie, neither is Chronicles of Riddick, but I enjoy them for what they are.
One of the best sci if action movies ever. fricking classic and a ridiculous cast.

After multiple chicks on facebook expressed how amazing this movie was, I knew it had to be terrible.

The director, actors, writers, producers, set designers, costume people, stunt doubles, people who delivered food to the set, and humanity in general should feel bad about this.

Terrible movie. Terrible. Just made me want to gouge my eyes out.

The wife was watching it. Gave me a synopsis of the plot. I said it sounded like a cross between Harry Potter and Hunger Games. She said that was about right.
I retired to the office to read on the Internet.

Just saw this the other day. I'm curious to read the books now. Course...I have a long list of books I want to read before those so maybe I'll forget I want to read the books by then.
You see The Giver yet? Now those books are good.

I watched it with my wife and totally agree. Stupid wife picking fricking horrible movies.
I really liked her and Miles Teller in The Spectacular Now.
