So, my sister rented Divergent the other day and I said to myself, "Self, you'll watch pretty much anything. Why don't you give this show a shot?"

"Self," I responded, "Yea, I have nothing to do before bed. I'll give it a shot."

That was a terrible idea.

The director, actors, writers, producers, set designers, costume people, stunt doubles, people who delivered food to the set, and humanity in general should feel bad about this.

Nothing in the movie made any sense. People are just running places while laughing and yelling and climbing things.

The whole premise made no sense either. The entire premise was dumb.

Oh, and Shailene Woodley is just awful.

Yes, I have only myself to blame for this.

The book does a much better job of explaining itself. The movie is pretty much for people who read the book. The whole system of getting into Dauntless was terribly represented which was the whole premise of the book.

It looked like a TV movie or a TV show, honestly.

Terrible all around.

I was honestly shocked at how bad Kate Winslet was.

The main star is such a terrible actor its laughable. When her mom or dad or whoever died it was supposed to be sad but she tried to cry and it was so bad I started laughing.

She is basically trying to be the new Jennifer Lawrence, shite she even cut her hair short like her for the 2nd installment Insurgent. They just released the trailer for that and holy frick it looks bad. I guess this girl is a fricking super hero now as well?

Everyone looked bad in this movie.

Woodley stole the terrible cake though. She really was terrible.

Oh God. That scene was awful.

This may be the ultimate insult, but she might be a poor man's Kristen Stewart when it comes to emotional range.

I believe scruffy enjoyed this movie but was afraid to say it so scruffy started a thread bashing it to get a feel for the consensus on it before scruffy admitted he liked it

Scruffy has no problem saying that he likes movies.

He likes The Notebook, Jumper, Hitman, Avatar, and he has a massive thread on anime.

Pretty sure he doesn't care what people think.

I can enjoy bad movies. Priest isn't a good movie, neither is Chronicles of Riddick, but I enjoy them for what they are.

Divergent was just awkward and bad.

so what you are saying is divergent will make the ranks of viable candidates for a bad movie night?

Well, it'll make the ranks of bad movies that are unwatchable, not bad movies that are watchable.

So, yes. It makes the ranks.

You gotta give me some time in between before we do that movie. Not sure I could watch it again soon.

Well, honestly, I shouldn't be surprised that I hated it. It was made for tweens.

I just wasn't expecting it to be THAT bad after seeing that it made so much damn money.

Boy, was I wrong.

Dude, it's a good movie.

I don't mind the occasional chick flick.

I like this movie.

Of course that could just be a Pavlovian response to the fact that I always get sex after.
