Well, it finally made the news* and not on a local site strangely enough. The kicker...

Alabama team doctors were the first to treat the officer.

LINK to story with photo

quote:

After the drama of Alabama’s win over LSU Saturday, the Crimson Tide’s team doctors were called to action on the way home.

Following the game, Alabama’s team doctors were leaving Tiger Stadium in a multiple car motorcade led by LSU police. A few miles from the stadium, one officer on a motorcycle was struck by a car. The doctors who had recently attended to Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon’s twisted ankle on the field had to revert to their trauma training on the side of the road.

*I am making a new thread rather than bumping the old one so you don't have to read the whole thing to get the info. So I call your Germans and raise you a IDGAF.

This is the correct decision.

Whats so strange about that? Given that they were being escorted by the guy that was hit?

I think the old thread may have been anchored anyway due to no link.

It's a miracle he only had some broken arms, legs, and ribs...that SUV rolled right over him and the motorcycle

I believe it was you that started the first thread and said you witnessed it. Did they stop and catch the driver of the SUV?

Explain to me how I edit the OP when I didn't write the OP. I will get all over it as soon as you post the instructions for hacking TD.

The officer was sitting right in front of a parking lot waiting for the convoy to catch up, the SUV hit the motorcycle...paused....then continued to slowly drive over the bike and cop and then came to a stop in the parking lot. They didn't try to run, but everything about it was bizarre...

I was a couple of cars behind the SUV and needless to say they didn't need us to stick around as witnesses seeing as how there were probably 6 other cops plus the people they were escorting.

The driver was not drunk and the motors officer was moving, running code, not stopped.

ETA - the Advocate posted something today regarding the incident.

what is a kicker about a DOCTOR treating someone.

let me give you an analogy.

my friends wife left him for a dentist. my friend then got in a fight and lost a tooth, the first person to treat him? A DENTIST

seeing how there is still no mention of the story with the driver, I am still sticking to my suspicion that it is a VIP and it's been hushed, or it was a Police officer driving the SUV.

Why was BR news trying to cover this up?

That's an assumption. No one is trying to cover anything up.

Like The People said in the original thread, people don't realize how often motors officers are hit. If the original poster hadn't posted anything, the release of the story about Alabama's medical personnel would probably be the first time people heard about it unless they knew those involved.

Nevermind, HERE is the local story

quote:

According to Baton Rouge police, the LSU motorcycle officer was driving northbound in the southbound lane on Nicholson Drive just before midnight after the completion of LSU’s overtime loss to Alabama when the crash occurred. The officer was escorting some Alabama personnel, including the doctors, by using proper lights and sirens to assist the motorcade through contraflow traffic, said Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., a Baton Rouge police spokesman.

quote:

Police cited the driver for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Neither the vehicle’s driver nor its passengers were seriously injured in the crash, Coppola said.

Not a DUI then.

quote:

The officer suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, said Coppola, the BRPD spokesman.

As of Wednesday morning, he remained hospitalized in stable condition, said Capt. Cory Lalonde, a LSU Police spokesman.
