I can't ever remember this many lower rated kids signing with very respectable schools from across the country. Arizona, Oklahoma, Arizona st, Nebraska, Oklahoma st, etc... have all signed quite a few three star kids from Louisiana. I was surprised when I looked at the Louisiana top 50. We are like a mini Florida I guess?? Teams are realizing our HS talent? Is it finally back to pre- Katrina level of HS talent?

Trying to create pipelines into our state so they can attempt to nab a blue chip in later years. Teams have pretty much always done this.

It's a very astute observation, but I'm sure they are also hoping to hit the lottery with a Tyrann Matheiu or Morris claiborne, etc.

Hmmm, TCU has 4 West Monroe players and is #4 in the playoffs. LSU has 0 and 3 losses.

Shows called that one. Told Les he was the best OL he ever coached. Tech has 3 and are undefeated in conference. Meh whatever. LSU can pluck who they want from around the country.

I think it's a great strategy, LSU can't sign everyone so plenty of talent is still available. I've always said that a 3 star in LA is as good or better than a 4 star in another state.

3 of the top 5 teams cannot beat LSU, and of the two that did, one has an average Center that's a douche and the other, a LT whose family's greed put him there.

Seriously? You really believe that this year? I'd take any of the top 5 against LSU, especially on the road or a neutral site.

I understand why we can't get them all. It just shows the talent in state.. Best in the country IMO.

I completely agree...

I started a thread similar to this last year. LINK
Most of those guys are now in the NFL too.

The state is stacked and always has been and always will be. When Saban left he even said if LSU can get majority of their in state players each year, which we have, they will be a top team and consistently compete for Natl titles, which we do. If my math is correct (long shot ) we have 79 players on scholarship. Out of those 79 scholarship players, 42 are from the state of LA, which is right around 53%. That's pretty amazing considering that's only SCHOLARSHIP players and doesn't include walk ons or anything like that and that we only have 4.5million people in the state.

Louisiana per capita is as loaded as any state in the country, so kids are ALWAYS going to get away. The key is, making sure you don't let the WRONG kid get away (ex. Dak Prescott). The coaching staff has to really do an ecxellent job of evaluating and projecting how kids will perform, in which the latter part can be extremely difficult.
