Your assuming my having the soundtrack means I was a fan of the show indeed makes you an arse, but not me.

I think I'll listen to some New Cannonball Blues just to piss you off.

edit: Just listened to the whole album again. Holy shite, but that's some good music.

I listened to it a couple of times when it dropped. I've listened to it probably 4 times in the last 48 hours. I played it for my wife last night while hanging out in the back yard at the firepit, and she liked it as well, which is a first for her and TVOTR.

Anyway, it has some songs on it that I would put up there with the best in their canon. It also has some songs on it that don't do a lot for me. Overall, the good songs are good enough that this album will probably make my top 10 for 2014 list.

So about a month in, what are everyone’s thoughts on this album? It has been getting a lot of play for me. Sure it may not be as innovative and great as Dear Science and especially Return to Cookie Mountain, but much like Nine Types of Lights I find it a very fun and listenable album with no bad tracks. When I look at all these critics’ best of the year lists, and pretty much never see it even mentioned, I can’t help but think that the brilliance of their early records is being held against them. I’m not saying it’s the album of the year or anything, but it would likely be in my top 10.

Favorite tracks: Could You, Happy Idiot, Ride, Lazerray and Trouble

I'll get back around to it. I've been so consumed with catching up on albums I missed off the various "Best of 2014" lists that I haven't been able to go back to this one.

Definitely better than Arcade Fire Reflektor

TV on the Radio >> Arcade Fire.
