If you feel that someone does you wrong, do you hold a grudge or just let it go?
Obviously the severity of said issue has a direct impact. Say someone tries to screw you out of a couple hundred dollars?
Or in the work place, someone tries to throw you under the bus? Do you walk away from it in a professional manner, but still hold a grudge in your head and wait for your moment to attack?

If it's not affecting my family I usually walk away and let it go. Lesson learned.

Absolutely, hatred for people is a great motivator in life. It gives you purpose. Live with a sense of urgency, life is too short for forgiveness.

Sometimes.

I think I hold internal grudges. I don't consciously think I do, but I have seen myself favor others because I am holding a grudge.

I wear the grudge like a crown of negativity.

Depends on the situation. I try not to hold as many grudges now though. Nothing good comes out of it tbh.

I will forgive and be civil. However, I will never forget and will make it a point to never do anything to help those people in their times of need.

There should be an Eleventh Commandment:
Get thee Revenge. ALWAYS.

I try real hard not to hold a grudge. Try to chalk it up as a lesson learned. It's difficult sometimes though.

I have a "will frick up your life when the chance arrives" list, but it's pretty short. You can also get off it by acting like a reasonable human being.

i don't go looking for revenge, but i don't forget. i assume one day that your brain will be on fire and you'll need someone to piss in your ear. it won't be me.

i find it takes more effort or energy to "hold" the grudge than it does to just let it go.

quote:

Or in the work place, someone tries to throw you under the bus?

in that scenario, i don't think i could stay mad, but i certainly would't forget.

99.5% of the time, NO. However, with one or two people in life yes.

About 13 years ago I lost a senior position in a small firm because the owner was doing something illegal i objected to and wanted to stop. Didnt work out and I lost my job. I was out of work for 11 months until I found a similar position. Dude did major economic damage to me and my family.

About 3 years later, the guy sold the company to a group of VC investors for several million dollars. About 2 months after that, I got a call from a high end NYC legal group who were representing the buyers. They were suing the orignal owner because they too discovered that the model the guy was using was not legal and not sustainable. (aka they bought a pile of shite.) VC's wanted their money back.

I was asked to be a witness for the plaintiffs. Which I did. my testimony cost that guy about 5 million in cash he had to give back.

I told 100% the truth at the deposition, but took some cold pleasure in fricking the guy back. that was 10 years ago now. However if I could throw that punk down a long flight of stairs i would do it in a heart beat still.
