Listening to both of them on air "late" last night, I could tell that they were very frustrated in the lack of an offensive passing game with LSU and with Cam and Les. I understand their anger, but let me explain a few things to them and everyone else.

No one hates to lose to Saban more than I. Last night I felt like that psycho chick from Ole Miss, I f#cken hate Bama! But the truth be told, LSU's off game plan was working, LSU catches some of those easy passes those drives continue. Jennings made only two mistakes, but they were big, the interception and not running for a 1st down in OT. Sorry Charles and Alan, but this one isn't on LSU's coaching staff. The refs played a part, Jennings played a part, and so did, Trey Quinn. I did have one complaint about the coaching staff, Chief should not have blitzed, just tackle Ala in bounds on plays and game over.

That's two weeks in a row, LSU's O line and D line dominated a top 5 opponent. To be able to run when two top 5 teams expect it and still dominate theses team is impressive. If this LSU team ever solves it's passing woe's, it will be a monster no team will defeat. I F#CKING HATE BAMA!

How can you have a passing game when you leave your passer on the bench?

Yeah, 13 is a lot of points. That's some good work.

I agree with the OP - well said. And dropping those short passes killed us - that's what everyone says we have to be able to do, and we had the play called and the pass there - multiple times.

Maybe after next season when Harris likely starts, and LSU is dogshit again in the passing game it will sink in that just changing the QB is not the solution.

Just watch Bama last night as to out they used scheme and formations to get guys open. LSU does very, very little of that.

Nice. But moral victories are for Tulane. We lost to Alabama. Close. Again.

Jennings accuracy is terrible. Just because the receivers catch some of his passes doesn't mean he did a good job.

LSU has a young team overall, and its playing the best defense in the country. Coaches played this one the right way, except for Chief in OT.

Jennings had 3 drive killing drops... 2 to Quinn and 1 to Dural.

Then had Jones blow up the first play of OT.

Jennings played well enough for LSU to win. Plenty well enough.

ETA: He also was the front two inches of Dupre's foot away from another touchdown.

I left before overtime started because I knew how it was going to end.

College Overtime demands that you have a competent, balanced, and well executed offense. LSU, unfortunately does not have this.

Oh, and I knew the refs would be on Bama's side. I hear there were two egregious PI no-calls. Duh.

It actually was a thing of beauty unfolding

We beat Ole Miss the same way

The passing is improving slowly... I think Jennings has improved a lot...

I mean we had 2 drops by #8, and the refs missed 3 straight Pass interference calls in overtime.

Gary was like "They are certainly letting them play"

game on the line, and the defender makes it impossible for you to catch because you are pushing, holding and in his grill before the ball gets there is the reason we have rules.

once Alabama made the overtime td, it was the official were qued- "ensure they are the team to represent the SEC"

It wasn't game planning. It was execution. The coaches can and should be held accountable for this as well, but those who think the loss was about game planning are wrong.

I hate when people can't realize this shite. 13 points in 5 periods is just bad. Everyone wants to pat Les on the back for almost winning a 10 point game.

The Jennings INT was not a mistake. It was a safe timing pattern and he threw the ball when he was supposed to. The WR slipped coming out of HS break. That was just unfortunate, but as the commentators said, you can not fault AJ on that play.

And if you want to caste some fault on all the players/coaches you listed for the nitpicky reasons you listed, then LSUs offensive gameplan bears some fault as well looking back at the game in hindsight.

Les got lucky with Mett. Otherwise, he sucks at recruiting QBs.

Du cyborg- you stopped just short of saying the receivers are surprised they can touch the ball and that is so infrequent they drop it.

Hannigriff's beef was valid though. This Offensive staff has the talent pool to use and in a year and a half does not have the QB's and receivers ready to make plays - even basic pitch and catch plays. You can watch highlights all day long from the CFB world and everyone else is chucking the football around. His point was that even a little passing game changes the complexion of everything LSU is doing. They make a mistake like an INT and they go into the deep freeze out of fear of making a mistake.

There are receivers open on virtually every play. It's more apparent in person than on tv.

The problem is that Dural has become Jennings' "woobie" (Mr. Mom reference).

If Dural is covered, he panics.

Anyone who thinks that gameplan is adequate is a damned idiot.

10 points and 13 points at home is unacceptable. Period.
