I finally bought a Java Maduro. It is very heavily chocolate, and want to pair it with a good drink.

I have some ideas, but want to see what others think.

Alcohol preferred.

I'd say Old Charter.

Not sure I've ever had a chocolate flavored cigar. I would think a Port might do the trick.

One of the things I was thinking. Perhaps a good stout too. Even a deep flavored dark rum.

The Java is a Drew Estate-Rocky Patel creation. I will give a review after I try it.

I think a dark sipping rum would be great too.

I don't drink rum a ton, but my bro-in-law always has Zaya's at the house which is really good.

I like that cigar though I do not lie flavored cigars. It is nice as a novelty.
I drank a Cabernet with it.
Chocolate+red wine= perfection

I've heard about this feature, but figured it was a myth.

How does one access this mysterious world?

Classic Maduro pairing would be a cognac, single malt whiskey, port, rye, dark rum, or bourbon. I like a dark mezcal or anejo tequila, sometimes---especially summer. Don't sleep on a Cabernet Sauvignon either. Just don't pick a drink that's heavier bodied than the stogie. Single Malt for your full body, Hefeweizen or white wine with your light bodied, etc.
I like a very dark craft beer with a Maduro, personally, like a porter or stout. Sierra Nevada makes a good porter and I'm partial to Rogue's Shakespeare Stout.
You can also make an alcoholic coffee drink for when it's cold out.

Nice!

I bought a Terrapin Moo Hoo Chocolate Stout for next time.

This time I paired it with Zaya rum. What a great smoke and pairing.

The cigar itself was fantastic. Hints of chocolate but no overwhelming like a flavored cigar. Chocolate smoke.

Highly recommend.

I've had the Flor De Cana 6 (I think) How is the 12? Also, is there an official Cigar thread? If not, we should start one.

Have you guys ever tried a Cuban Stock maduro? Real solid cigar that isn't too expensive. Definitely worth checking out.

Glad you like it.

It's also a pretty solid deal. I think I picked up a 1/5 for under $40.
