I understand that as I hold my beliefs and I inherently believe my side is right, I would like to think that I have some grasp on reality. It has been a rough several years for Republicans and for conservatism in general. When we have taken it on the chin I knew why we had taken it on the chin and it was because the electorate rejected Republicans and their ideas at that time.
The amount of delusional ideation that I am seeing on this show is to the point that it is not so much comical but very discouraging. They either don't get it or they get it and choose to overtly lie to their audience. You have one guest saying that last night was not a rejection of Obama or the Democrats but rather a rejection of Washington in general and a sign that people are in discontent over the lack of action in the government. The next segment is about whether the Democrats made a huge mistake by attempting to distance themselves from Obama. Yes, this was a segment.
Everywhere I have looked today, all I have seen is denial. There is no consideration on the part of Democrats that perhaps their ideas in some way created a mess that the electorate found untenable. They will not do one pure second of soul-searching with regards to whether their ideas need adjusting or reconsideration. They only appear to delude themselves about what happened last night and go full steam ahead.
I have no doubt that the Democrats will win in the end. This was a victory by the Republicans that might curb for a certain amount of time the more destructive policies of the Democrats. I honestly believe that this is one of the main reasons that the Democrats feel no pressure to Consider the fact that their policies are not working and the electorate despite its shortcomings, recognized this at least last night. The Democrats realize that demographics will cause the electorate to come to them regardless of what they do via inpenetrable voting blocks.

I posted this in the DU thread.

We're about 50/50 now in this country and I see no way to right the ship. The last 50 years of indoctrination/brainwashing thru government education, and thru propaganda from the government/media complex, they've (progressives) created an irreparable mass of useful idiots.

I realized the morning after Obama was reelected that a Romney victory likely would've only staved off the inevitable collapse by 4-8 years. That's how far gone our society is.

An entitlement mentality (not just from government either, but the " I deserve a trophy because I showed up "mentality) coupled with a lack of a moral compass (I didn't do anything wrong) is going to hurt our country in the long run.

Rand Paul should offer free LASIK surgeries to all msnbc personalities. I'm tired of looking at all the horn-rimmed glasses.

That god awful lesbian on there is laughing saying that Republicans didn't run on anything and they will get beat in 2016. God these people can't accept that the people tried their style and it failed miserably.
I believe they ran on repealing Obamacare and stopping amnesty. I believe they ran on opposing Obama which means stopping anything he does and to do the opposite which I think people wanted per the votes.

The Democrat party will ultimately destroy this country. There is no doubt.
Their audacity is breathtaking. When they win an election, they believe they have a mandate to do whatever they want.
When they lose, they demand the Republicans give them their way anyway because the electorate was obviously mistaken.

It's that entitlement mentality. It's all Obama could talk about in his press conference today. Even when asked if the voters were tired of his policies, he kept going on and on about helping everybody. More entitlements. Not once did he ever entertain the thought that the voters were wanting less gov't and less entitlements.
It's like being in Bizzaro world.

The arguments that the liberal talking heads are making are utterly counterintuitive. Their main theme is that now that the Republicans have the Senate, their primary directive is to find a way to work with Obama.
It is counterintuitive because if it was the desire of the electorate to elect people that would work with Obama, they wouldn't have cleaned the Democrats out of office. That's the party that works with Obama. The electorate was trying to pump the brakes and do a take back. The electorate didn't clean out the Dems looking for someone that would work with Obama.
This is what I mean by their being delusional.
