Why is Alabama able to pass the "eye test" THIS year like they do every year?....and honestly, I'm not exactly sure who they've beaten to warrant them passing this mythical "test." I absolutely believe that they're so high in the polls based on what they've done previous years, rather than this year.

Have you seen Blake Sims play? He's honestly not that great. Cooper has bailed him out on a NUMBER of plays. He's DEFINITELY not what they've had with McCarron and McElroy the last 6-7 years.

Defensive Rankings so far vs. teams Alabama has faced....They've scored 1 offensive touchdown vs. a defense higher than 20th this year.

62nd
110th
98th
22nd (Florida @ home)
19th (Ole Miss and had 1 offensive TD)
44th (225 total yards and 14 points)
76th
53rd

The teams they struggled against, honestly, Sims has looked shaky, at best.

Just thought I'd throw a few numbers out there as far as what they've shown so far this year. I'm sure there are a quite a few people that's watch BAMA play more than one quarter and find Sims to be a weakness rather than a strength for that team.

Because they are Alabama and they are inside almost every LSU fan's head. Just being honest.

Doesn't matter the media and the pundits are going to continue to lick Saban's balls no matter what they do. That team will have to lose 3 games before they are clearly out of the playoff picture.

This is exactly why my suggestion for nonconference games is needed.

Alabama is the only team even deserving of the eye test. Everyone else has to beat good teams and shite.

Sims is the top rated QB in the SEC; 3rd in completion %; has thrown the least INTs of any full time starter; 4th in YPG; and 5th in total passing yards

If you look at McCarron's 2013 stats you'll see that he was the 3rd highest rated QB; 3rd in completion %; threw the 2nd fewest INTs of any full time starter; 5th in YPG; and 5th in total passing yards.

This may not be as good of a Bama team as we have seen in the past (Nov. will determine that), but it's pretty clear that Sims hasn't been as much of a "weakness" as you make him out to be (at least when compared to McCarron last year) Also, Bama had a better running game last year than they do this season, thus putting more responsibility on Sims to perform

Well to be fair, they've only played one team with a defense ranked higher than 20th. Against the next best defense they faced (UF @ 22) they scored 6 TDs (4 passing).

I'm all for shitting on Bama, but at least find the right guy to criticize

You conveniently cut it off at 20. But Florida has the 22nd best defense, and Bama lit them up.

Would you feel better if I put Florida in teh subject line considering how much of a juggernaut they are?

I'm just saying you were a bit misleading. Bama's only played one top 20 defense (Ole Miss). The other good defense they played was Florida, and they destroyed them.

That data point just gets left out when you cut it off at 20. Move your cut off to 25 and your point isn't nearly as strong.

Those numbers are the result of Amari Cooper and Lane Kiffin.

youll see why on saturday. the vast majority of his throws, as in like 90 percent, are from 0 - 10 yards. they'll throw a deep jump ball to cooper on the sideline once or twice a game, often on the first or second possession, if its a low enough risk. look for that again vs LSU. if we can pick the first one there won't be a second unless it's out of desperation.

another thing; he makes decisions very quickly and has an extremely quick release. a lot of his throws hit the defense in the chest but they dont make the catch because they weren't expecting the ball that quick. i think that's why he's looked so much better than he did last spring, his receivers have gotten used to him.

so we could easily have 3+ INTs, or it could bounce of our hands again.

Well then by that logic, Zack Mettenberger wasn't very good last year either. His numbers were the result of Landry/Beckham and Cam Cameron

I've yet to see Kiffin suit up this year, and somebody has got to get Cooper the ball

Be that as it may, he's getting the job done for them.

Look, I'm not saying that he is some all-world talent, or that LSU won't have a great game against him. I just don't see how HE is the reason Bama hasn't looked as good to the OP. Personally, I think their Oline has some issues.
