Jindal will be opposite Vitter in two major elections the next two years---the first--Angelle vs Vitter for governor. The second the senate race to replace Vitter.

Vitter and Jindal hate each other. They have competing political organizations and it will be very interesting to see how this goes down.

I'm kind of surprised that anyone is going to oppose Vitter - he's going to steamroll his way to Baton Rouge.

Just like Cassidy and Kennedy even Jindal--Angelle is a democrat turned republican when political expediency dictated.

I don't see Jindal having near enough stroke to do any real damage to any candidate he opposes. He's the kiss of death & his support is, like Obama's, not wanted by anyone.

I hate Vitter more than IB Freeman hates film tax credits, Bobby Jindal, and Catholics.

Well, maybe not as much as he hates Catholics.

With Vitter likely to become the senior senator from Louisiana and with his party becoming the majority party of the senate, it would not shock me if Vitter changes his mind and doesn't run for governor......this time.

If you think Jindal cares enough to front state/local candidates you aren't paying attention.

I thought Vitter was running for governor to boost his executive qualifications for larger aspirations. Is that not what he's doing?

Vitter is a smug prick, but at least you know what he stands for and has the best interest of the state in mind. He will kick Angelle's arse.

And Jindal better stay out of the endorsment game. His record over the last few years in supporting people hasn't been all that great.

Graves and Scott Angelle are both people who happen to have worked under Jindal and ran for office. Yes, some of their contacts and fundraising efforts benefited from that connection, but they are hardly "Jindal candidates."

I do despise film credits and Bobby Jindal but you have mis-interrupted any criticisms I have made of the Catholic Church and Catholics.

I do not hate them at all. I was going to convert and believe in the foundations of the Christian Church and am for my entire adult life been a Christian. I do not like what I believe is nothing more than abuse of the faithful practiced by the men that run the Catholic Church. I see them taking advantage of their members and I encourage members to stand up to them.

This is OT for this thread but please accept my apologies if I have lead you to believe I hate Catholics. That has never been my heart or my intention.

(I hate Jindal because he abuses those that support him too!!)

see the email I received overnight---

quote:

David Vitter
Dear Friend,

Tonight was an historic victory!

Taking back the Senate from Harry Reid and Barack Obama means we can start putting our country back on the right track.

And it makes me even more enthusiastic about my effort to become our next Governor here at home. As our next Governor, I can have an even bigger impact getting us back on that right track, advancing freedom and opportunity. Together, we can address the unique challenges and opportunities we face in Louisiana with bold vision and conservative common sense. I'd be honored to continue to earn your full support as that campaign develops.

Now, in the meantime I'll enjoy a new role in the Senate majority--Chairman of the important Small Business Committee. Leading the Small Business Committee, I'll be able to shape policy that helps all of Louisiana’s businesses. We can make important efforts there to grow our energy industry, free ourselves from the Obama Administration’s crushing regulatory agenda, reduce the tax burden on small businesses, and of course repeal and replace Obamacare.

Finally, I certainly want to stress that we have some work left to do on these mid-term elections here in Louisiana. We need to elect another conservative senator from Louisiana to be an active, leading member of our new Republican majority. We need to help Bill Cassidy defeat Mary Landrieu on December 6. Please join me in that crucial effort too.

God bless, and enjoy our historic win tonight!

David

BigJim do you doubt at all that Jindal's pac and Teeple's firm will not be involved in Angelle's campaign??

I was interested in a reply to this one BigJim.

My theory now is that Jindal's career plan includes cashing in on the Pac circuit like Palin.

THe smart move would be to call a truce, get jindal to support vitter gov and have vitter appoint jindal to the senate. Could even be a short term appointment and let somebody else run in 2016. I mean jindal can't think he will win the GOP nomination in 2016, so get appointed senator to add to his resume.

Congressman
Gov
Senator

If a repub wins in 2016, he probably could land a cabinet job than run for president in another decade after making some $

Graves...maybe not as heavily a Jindal candidate as might be portrayed.

Scott Angelle...absolutely a Jindal guy, which is interesting considering he was a former EWE Democrat pol, much like John Alario.
