Halloween horror movie debate: Evil Dead 1 & 2

It's been my favorite horror series since I was 15. Do you think Evil Dead 1 or 2 is better?
Also, the back of my old evil dead 2 VHS said Ash (Bruce Campbell) revisits the cabin in the woods. I thought the first few minutes was obviously a short recap of the first movie, even though it was inconsistent, and think its strange that they would say he revisits the cabin. The story line here is a big debate amongst fans. What say you?

Second ftw. The relationship between Ed 1 and 2 is an old debate. I always saw it as a reinvention of he first movie.

The opening of the Evil Dead 2 is the way it is because Sam Rami couldn't get the rights to the original footage from the first movie, and he felt like he had to re-introduce the story since ED2 picks up right were the first one left off. So he just reshot it and put his own spin on it. I prefer 2.

Evil Dead 2 is one of my favorite movies period. I saw it before I saw part 1, though. I'm sure that makes a difference. Evil Dead 2 was basically everything Raimi wanted to do with part 1 but wasn't able to with the small budget.
