Got the audiobook from the library a few weeks ago. Creepy as hell. Outstanding narration.

The stories, while scary, didn't bother me as much as the illustrations. They were drawn from the depths of hell where the things that lurked under the devil's bed lay.
That first pic, the skull tree, is the definitive picture of horror in my mind, always and Forever.
Now, it is a comfortable terror, but in my youth... Well, I'm sure it has haunted more dreams than mine.

A tip of the skull plate to S. Clay Wilson.

That was on the cover, right?

Yes. On the cover staring out at me with one dead eye...a look that filled my youthful mind to the brim with terror...I still can't look at a squat oak's profile without imagining a grin and a pipe...

The only picture I don't remember is the lightning arm guy.

Well said. My sentiments exactly. I used to pass that book in the hallway and always, no matter how much I didn't want to look, I always had to take a peek at the cover as I slinked by.
Only in the brightest light when the sun was at it's highest point would I be able to muster the courage to open it up and take a gander at the horrors inside.

I remember searching for the White Wolf on many a night out in the northern woods
