No, republicans are scared that courting the black vote will scare off the white Christian bloc that is a strong hold of their constituency.

its really that simple. They fear white flight

In a nutshell, that's exactly what Nixon's political strategist Kevin Phillips said in a 1970 New York Times article:

quote:

Republicans would be shortsighted if they weakened enforcement of the Voting Rights Act. The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans. That's where the votes are. Without that prodding from the blacks, the whites will backslide into their old comfortable arrangement with the local Democrats.

Such bullshite.

I went to a Vitter fundraiser when he first ran for the Senate. He wasn't there, but one of his campaign managers was and had a Q & A session. One person asked what they were doing about getting some of the black vote from the Dem candidate and he said, "Nothing. From our polling numbers it's just not cost effective and the return on investment is too low. We can win without the black vote." And they did.

My point is this, the black community has been programmed for decades by the Dems that the Republican party is "only for the rich" and hates black folks. Neither could be further from the truth. When blacks start questioning the Democratic lies and see that none of this is true, maybe the Republican party will start to open up the lines of communication, but until then, it's not worth our time or money. We don't need the black vote as badly as the Dems do, that's why they'll say and do anything to keep y'all on their plantation. How's that working out for y'all?

First thing that happens when you click on that article is a fricking Chlorox commercial raises from the depths of your screen and plays dance house music. I've come to realize that most of the politics found on the internet are just trolls trying to make money off advertising.

Which is why I always post a good summary of what's in the article, in case nobody wants to click.

Much appreciated

you believe black people have been "programmed" but I bet you think that you & all your buddies independently came up with voting alike.

Black people vote D because they pay attention.

We'd be better for it if "D" returned the attention. Unfortunately D is about the vote, not the solution.

Either you have spent no time around black people or you have spent time around black people and were in some sort of trance the entire time.

Yeah, like you and your sycophantic buddies aren't on here every day telling blacks how much Republicans hate them. Go frick yourself hack.

Me and my buddies vote what's in our best interest, like lower taxes, less government intrusion, smaller governmen, ect. You have a problem with that?

And look at them being poor as frick in insane poverty, being the fattest demographic in the USA, committing most of the crime in the USA and being half of the prison population despite being a minority in the USA, being uneducated and illiterate as frick, and the loss of the nuclear family in the black community.

Yeah, voting D has done wonders.

If we made this a habit instead of being offended by politicians or political parties or being manipulated into scare tactics about what a candidate says, we'd be so much better off.

Stating these facts is racist! Why do you hate black people?

Signed,
Democraps

(BTW, that's exactly where the Dems want them and will keep them there if they have their way.)

I hope the example provided in the OP wasn't suppose to convince me the above is valid. Its just plain silly to believe O'Reilly was being racist in his comments.

It's interesting bc they accuse fox news of saying the secret service didn't protect the President on purpose when that's the same stuff some of our honorable "civil rights activists" have been saying
