Auburn beats ole miss
Ole miss & bama beat Miss. St.
LSU wins out
Bama beats Auburn

Wouldn't LSU win the west?

That would set up a 5-way tie. In that case, the tiebreaker would go all the way to East opponent records, which Auburn will most likely win due to playing UGA. We win if all that happens, and UGA beats Auburn.

4-way tie between us, MSU, Bama, and Auburn. First tiebreaker:

Mississippi State 2-1 (beat LSU and Auburn, lost to Bama)
Alabama 2-1 (beat MSU and Auburn, lost to LSU)
LSU 1-2 (beat Bama, lost to MSU and Auburn)
Auburn 1-2 (beat LSU, lost to MSU and Bama)

MSU and Bama remain, then head-to-head gives it to Bama.

So it's better for us if Ole Miss is tied as well, since we have head-to-head over them.

We need Auburn to Lose two
MSU to lose two
Ole Miss to lose one

Auburn has Georgia and Bama on their schedule they can lose to them
MSU has Bama and Ole Miss on their schedule on their schedule they can lose those
Ole Miss has MSU and Auburn left.

these teams but these are the games that they could lose other games there is no way they lose.

If Ole Miss beats Auburn, than the winner of Ole Miss MSU wins the west
If Auburn beats Ole miss than loses two. Than if we win out and Ole Miss beats MSU, with Bama beating MSU. Than there is a 4 way tie and we win the west.

But if Auburn beats Georgia and the rest of this scenario plays out, it's a 5-way tie with each team's record vs common opponents at 2-2. I'm not sure how the tiebreaker works at that point.

a 5 sided coin toss?

add Georgia beating Auburn into that scenario and yes we do.

That would leave

Bama (1-2)
LSU (2-1)
MSU (1-2)
Ole Miss (2-1)

LSU beat Ole Miss we win tie breaker.

So am I. By the time Ole Miss plays Arkansas, it should be clear what needs to happen in that game. Hopefully we're still able to worry about it. Only game outside of ours that I think everyone here can support is Georgia beating Auburn.

Bottom line: LSU fans need to pull for Auburn to win this weekend.

The Pigs beating MSU would be icing on the cake.

Not sure if it's possible, but I would be happy if some how some way LSU is in the final four come play off time and of course win out the rest of their games starting with Bama.

With 2-losses, we'll have to be conference champs. We would make a major (formerly BCS) bowl though.

do not think so....
These HUMANS will be sold on the WIN OUT concept w the sports media all over it.
..it is not like the math formula.

I think they would make us # 4 ..but have to win out or it is all over

This may be a case in which the COMMITTEE may help LSU.

It honestly doesn't matter. There's scenarios either way. We need OM to beat State, and we need them to lose another game, so it's either this or Arkansas. BUT, we almost certainly need Auburn to lose twice. So if they win, we need them to lose to UGA and Bama.

I don't even want Ole Miss to win not only a game, but the coin toss.

True, but I don't want to have to rely on Arkansas or A&M for anything. If Auburn wins this, we won't have to.
