Outside WR went inside, Inside WR went outside. Robinson went with the Outside WR. Safety stayed inside on the play. You have to communicate and switch WR's on a play like that normally.

It looked like RR was playing man to man on the outside WR, and the Safety was in a zone over the top. The safety thought RR would pass the WR off to him and RR would jump the WR in the flats, while RR was in man to man and thought the FS was man up on the slot WR and the FS would jump the WR in the flats. 1 played it man to man, the other played a zone.

Confusion / miscommunication. Hopefully it was resolved.

Les miles , it is always his fault. Whether it is or isn't. Actually it's j. Collins fault he should have picked tht awful halfback pass

I'm not sure who had primary responsibility, but the entire action happened right in front of Rashard. He saw the short run underneath; he saw the safety waiting on the post; and he didn't do shite.

Compare this to Eric Reid, who left his man when he saw blown coverage, and made a game-winning play against Bama in 2011.

Let this be a lesson to all of the knuckleheads on here who jump to conclusions because of one good play or one good game. Last year Rashard "shut down" A&Ms big WR. I kept telling guys on here that this was more about our front seven and JFF's core incompetencies. But they kept insisting RR was our best corner, while I kept saying he was third behind Mills and White. They kept saying he beat out Mills, and I tried to explain that Mills moved to fill a need.

Rashard has talent, but I've yet to see good football instincts that are necessary for zone coverage.

It was similar to the play they ran on 4th and 8 late in the game on their 2nd to last or last drive. Hopefully it is something we're working on this week because I'm sure it is something Kiffin and Bama picked up on.

That's what it looked like in real time - man coverage, pick route to rub off Robinson. Ole Miss ran one other pick route that was blatant, this one was more subtle. But obviously effective.

Herbie called it a pic play on watching the replay. Happens all the time & it's one of those calls, unfortunately, that is left up to the individual ref/s to call/no call. Would have been irrelevant if we had not dropped the Int the play before, giving LSU a shutout.

You, Herbie, and the two posters who went before you are nuts! It wasn't even close to a pick play. They didn't pass within three yards of each other.

I would have to see the replay to confirm but I didn't think it was a pick-play either. A really good example of a pick-play is ND's 4th qtr TD pass that was called back vs FSU.

In our case, it looked like Rashard and whoever was playing safety were unsure what to do. By the time Rashard tried to get over it was too late.

When in doubt, blame welter.

Another good example of a pick, that should have been called, was earlier in the Ole Miss game when Kwon was picked, and it went for a huge gain up the left sideline. (In fact, I think that was the TD that got called back on replay).
