I know lots of OT'ers cut through here. Probably a dozen or so cops enforcing this morning, picking the low hanging fruit.

BRPD was at Florida and N19th yesterday giving people tickets. They are there everyday trying to catch state workers leaving work. I think its their go to spot when they need to write a shitload of tickets.

If people speed or have an expired inspection sticker, they should receive a ticket. But there is something about waiting at the same spot everyday at 4:30 for people who work downtown to get off of work just rubs me the wrong way.

I have to seriously believe that the Chief and his minions just DGAF about public opinion when they let this continue. I am all about enforcing the law but these checkpoints are just stupid. All they do is piss people off and take officers from enforcement of legit laws. Go out and stop people for real traffic violations that endanger others (like running red lights) and then write them up if their sticker is expired but leave the rest of us alone. Damn.

How is stopping the working people cutting through there helping the neighborhood?

What's an expired inspection sticker ticket cost? Mine expires November 1 and I'm not getting it renewed. Check engine light has been on for years

A little over $100.

Mine was expired for years before I finally got it taken care of this past Summer... got busted for it once.

Get a code reader from Autozone for $40. erase the code, drive for 50 miles or so and bring into the inspection shop. voila. new inspection sticker.

FYI Tip:

If you get an inspection sticket ticket, do not pay it. Go get a new inspection sticker before your court date, and show the receipt and ticket to one of the ADA's that are up there at the front. They will throw out the ticket.

I have done this succesfully 2 times. Now, I just go get a new inspection because illegal tint is just too much of a hassle. But if I were to get popped after letting mine expire for a week or two, thats what I would do.

They do that stupid crap a lot in BR.

Yet, the city is rife with crime and bad drivers.

I guess this cuts down on both?
