Thoughts on the "The Return of the Living Dead" series? (spoilers I guess?)

I thought the first two were great B-movie horror/funny films.
In the debate over fast zombie vs slow zombie, here is a film that had both. But had a different twist. They all could talk.
This guy creeped me out. We would set the VCR up to play right when he came out, and play it over and over.
I loved the dancing naked chick who became a zombie as well.
(no pics obviously, parents back then didn't care what their 8-11 year olds were watching lol)
And what about the Michael Jackson zombie doing the "thriller" as he dies? lol
LINK
Return of the Living dead 3 parodied the third Night of the living Dead (Dawn of the Dead) and introduced not on a smart zombie, but one that was kinda hot, in a weird she's dead, likes jamming sharp objects into her body and eats people sort of way.
They went for humor, and gore and cheap scares, but sometimes, they even tugged at our heartstrings.
It would even break the fourth wall
Stupid, brainless? I think not. They are silly, but like the Critters and Ghoulies movies of the 80's, these lesser known series should not be forgotten.
If you like zombies, look it up and check it out. If you grew up in the 80's and early 90's you can disregard this post as you have already seen them..

Always thought the first one was the perfect combination of humor and horror. I'm not sure why but the opening music always creeped me out.

These movies are responsible for my zombie obsession.

if you're entertained by the zombie/vampire genre in general then you're easily entertained.. this stuff is all crap.

I like the first two. The third is meh but at least they tried something different.

This. They represent a much needed departure from George "Everythng is socio-political commentary" Romero. While I love the Night of the Dead movies, even the recent craptastic one was watchable, the Return movies are a good compliment.

First two were fun. I don't think I ever saw the third.

But I'm not gonna not say that either.

IIRC, she had great tits.
At least great to my teenage self.

She was the first "weirdest boner right now" that I can remember.

I love the first one, it's a smart film in its own right.

The first two were pretty good, the first being the best, while the third was kind of meh and I have never seen the fourth one.
I mentioned liking Ghoulies a lot too, but watched the first one last night and forgot how bad it was.
That series I think the third one is by far the best. With the Prank week scenario at the frat houses.
I can still quote lines from that one.

Proud to be easily entertained. It must suck going through life being difficult to entertain.
Me: "That was a great movie. I had an awesome time."
You: "eh, not entertained."
Me: "What a great meal...one of my favorite dishes."
You: "eh, not entertained."
Me: "Thanks for the awesome blowjob honey...sorry I got some in your hair."
You: "eh, not entertained."
Must be fun being difficult to entertain.

Both one and two are right up there on the list of zombie films for me. It's been a long time since I've seen three but I remember it being watchable at least. I would concur with others on here that it gave me weird feelings that would take years for me to understand.
It's weird when you are a kid you dont appreciate some of the humor they were going for. I liked them when I was younger because I thought they were scary, now I like them because i think they are funny. And I can actually see the boobies now that I don't have to watch them on TV....

I have a feeling that's how Critters would be for me today...a buddy of mine and I used to watch that series all the time and we thought it was awesome, and now I bet they're pretty laughably horrible.

Watching this bad boy as we speak. It's one of my go-to Halloween movies.
