Taco Bell is emphasizing that mobile customers will have access to every single ingredient on its menu, and the company even plans to offer some food items exclusively via the app. Special offers will also be integrated, and Taco Bell says reordering your last custom creation is as easy as rotating your phone.

Ultimately Taco Tico saw this coming and that's why they closed shop. It's a lot like the problem the cabbies are facing with Uber.

I mean it takes like 5 minutes max to go through the drive through, place my order, get my order, and drive away. Unless it's like crazy busy.

Whenever I get to the window it's always less than like a 1 minute before I get my food. Most of the time anyway.

I'm not sure what the point is

not having to deal with the person taking the order. and atleast having your order make it to the prep folks accurately.

It furthers society's dive into a machine-powered world. Soon fast food restaurants will completely be run by machines. Have you ever seen The Matrix?

People said the same thing about electricity and cars. You'll figure it out one day.

Well since I both hate and fear all technology and feel like I was born about 50 years too late, this is just another thing I do not understand the purpose of

Hey, you can hit a button on your phone and get your food in 5 minutes, or say like 10 words to a person and get your food in 5 minutes

I mean don't you still have to walk in, or drive thru, and talk to a person to get your food? What is this even cutting out?

It's just people like having these little machines attached to their hands that become their entire basis of and reason for existence

Yesterday I ventured into said establishment. The lady at the register stopped me mid order to check her phone which alerted her to a text with some noisy rap.

She read back my order which was wrong. She took another text and read back my order which was wrong.

Once printed, I checked the order and it was still wrong. I gave up.

Yes, an app wouldn't cut down much on the time you wait but at least you can make sure the order is put into the system correctly.

Processed correctly is another ballgame.
