Hi Tiger Nation,

I am an Australian living in New York and am a big LSU and Saints fan. (Good to see Brad Wing doing so well in the pros!) Coming down to LA for the best weekend ever seeing the Bama game on the Saturday and Saints v 49ers on the Sunday. Excitement level - High! So good did this weekend sound that numbers quickly swelled to 15 so I wanted your advice on where we could tailgate and any other recommendations. Are their tailgates we can pay to attend? Thanks in advance! Nic M

Awesome that you're coming down…you shouldn't have any problems finding people to tailgate with. Just can't be afraid to ask.

Seriously, just walk around, introduce yourself, and you'll be welcomed.

Buy an Ice chest and contribute some beer, etc and you'll be even more welcomed.

Safe travels and hope yall have an awesome time. Sounds like an awesome weekend

ETA - As another said, mention you traveled from Australia to see LSU / Saints and you'll be golden

Come early.

You can tailgate pretty much anywhere that there aren't signs telling you not to (most places). (You might wanna ask tailgaters in the area you choose if you are setting up on anyone's traditional spot)

Awesome LSU fandom has spread to Australia. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Are you actually bringing 14 other people down? If that's the case, I wouldn't rely on crashing someone else's tailgate like others are suggesting. If its just you and a buddy or two - you can definitely crash a tailgate. Just find the loudest one you can and tell folks you're from Australia and love LSU football and can you please have a beer.

BTW - you might wanna check out the team and band when they come down Victory Hill. Not sure exactly what time that will happen, ask around.

Brother in law is from Adelaide and usually tailgates with the other footy members on the parade grounds directly across the street from the clock tower. They would be very welcoming.

For the Kentucky game I met some Australian football team walking around in their jerseys. This weekend we met some Canadian guys walking around with a Canadian flag. Both got them lots of attention and lots of free food and drink I'm sure.

Just walk around the parade grounds. If I see an Australian I'll invite you in for a few games of flip cup

Thanks for all of the replys guys. We are 25-34 and a mix of married and single! That was my concern, if we are a large group it might be a bit of an imposition at someones tailgate. We will obviously come well supplied with booze etc (we are Aussies!). We are staying in New Orleans but have a ride organized that will get us there around 1 pm!

Awesome. Most of us are from Sydney and Melbourne. Sounds like that is the direction we will head. We would def chip in $$ for food and everything as it is well known that no one cooks up better it better than LSU!

We're on the Parade Ground too and will have 75+ for the Bama game so 10-15 more won't matter.

Make sure you tell everyone you see using a barbecue grill this verbatim:
"Throw another shrimp on the barbie."
