Thats what I'd normally do b/c I am a sexy beast in the kitchen/bbq pit, but I don't think she's going to drive all the way from Hammond to Prairieville for a blind date at a dude's house.

I preferred casual laid back on a first date, particularly a blind one, not that I would ever agree to a blind date again in my life. A few times was more than enough.
Go casual. If you like her, wine and dine later.

It took months to pay off that charge on my card.

You mean like within an hour of picking her up, right?

You were the one who picked the wildly expensive place trying to show off. Don't complain to me about that!

Had a brilliant idea of going on a tour of the new Gnarly Barley brewery,

Give them a call. I wouldn't be surprised if they arrange to give you a tour. They're a start-up brewery and seem to be pretty fan friendly. Can't hurt...Just explain that you have a date and thought it would be a cool start for the date.

I'll second Jacmel Inn and if you want more casual Tommy's.

More casual the better for blind date. Take her to play darts or something and get a drink after pizza. An activity helps to loosen people up and keep things interesting

I'd be careful about letting a blind date know where I live.
