Pulled my 21' bayboat from Lafayette to Grand Isle this weekend. Got less than 9 mpg overall.

8.3 mpg doing 70 mph on interstate and 8.7-9.4 doing 60-65. Not too impressed with the gas mileage, but it does pull it very well. You can really feel the low end torque when starting from a dead stop and accelerating.

BTW, I got 11-12 mpg pulling my boat with my 6.0 diesel F250, but the new F150 pulls it effortlessly. Good thing gas prices are lower now.

I got the eco too. Love the truck, but the gas mileage isn't anything to write home about. I think I average 15 daily with 34x12s and a level.

What did you honestly expect for in-tow MPG? It will get better over time after the motor breaks in a bit. The gas mileage is no better than the 5.0 in my experience, but will do laps around it in any situation. FWIW, my lifetime average with 43k miles is at 12.6.

I dont have the eco but my 5.0 got better mpg all the way up until 20k miles. I average 13mpg (+/- 1mph depending on traffic) going down to cocodrie staying around 60mph . Lifetime im at 16.8mph. I would expect a little better than 8-9mpg even with your boat but wait until your motor breaks in some more

Think the gas mileage will come up a little after I put some miles on it? Why?

BTW, the dealership didn't mention anything about "breaking in" the engine. Is there any break in procedures for the Ecoboost?

I don't have an Eco Boost. Don't even have a Ford but was looking around the other day and started reading about the Diablo Tuners. They make one for that F150 Eco Boost that can add 90HP and 90 Ft Lbs of Torque.

That is a huge jump for a tuner and if I owned an Eco Boost I would definitely be adding one of these.

I am getting 16.5 overall with mine right now without towing. Still have OEM Goodyear AT tires and haven't destroyed my aerodynamics yet...

I just got one as well mine was a demo with 5k miles..I get 19-20 on interstate at 70..haven't pulled yet but my 12 with 5.0 was 2wd and I got 12 at best pulling my bay boat. Besides it's a truck..not a prius..idc what it gets pulling. Also what gears do you have and 4x4? My friend has a lariat with 3:15 gears and he gets 9 mpg pulling

Drive Airline to Pville for work every day and put on some decent highway miles heading south on the weekends. 3.55 rear end with 35" ATs. I'm not complaining about it now because I understand why it sucks, but even before, it wasn't THAT good. Eco my arse

i agree as far as mileage goes..its the same pretty much between the eco and 5.0. my buddy has 35s and the 5.0 and he gets maybe 12-14 without pulling..im just ready to pull with the ecoboost and see how much better it pulls my boat.

Same here. With 275/55/R20 Pirelli Scorpions.

My boat is not a typical 21' bayboat thought. Deeper V and taller gunnels than most. Pretty heavy 21 footer. See pic below.
