I am in process of finally getting my own clubs, no more mismatched hand me downs. I am looking for some advice on wedge selection, I am going to stay with Vokey's, But I need help with what degree wedges I should be utilizing. My current wedge set up is garbage.
I currently have: PW (45deg) AW (51deg) W (56deg)

Do you use wedges for full shots or just shots around the green?

What are your typical playing conditions - dry/wet or no rough/lots of rough?

any interest in a lob wedge? You could get a weaker pitching wedge (47 or 48) and stronger lofted sand wedge(54) and a 58 lob wedge. This would allow you to remove the gap wedge altogether

There is no right set up. You have to go with what works best for you. I go with a 48, 52, 56, 60 typically, but sometimes I use a 48, 54, 60 set up. Learn about bounce and how your swing fits with different bounces. I prefer a lower bounce on most of my wedges, but have a little more bounce on my sand wedge for use with certain shots.

I use wedges for both full and approach, I play in a variety of conditions, so I need to be able to maximize what I can do with what I carry.

Since your conditions are fairly generic, I would focus on setting up for yardage gaps.

For example, my full shot wedges are:

75/80 yards - 60 degree
90 yards - 56 degree
100/105 yards - 54 degree

Make sure to look at bounce of the wedges as well. Typically the courses I play are dry fairways with tight lies and bunkers with hard, light sand. Therefore I want low bounce on my wedges.

For shots around the green, that is up to you. Everyone has different preferences on what shots to hit for chipping and pitching.

My PW is 44* but I carry a 52*, 56* SW with plenty of bounce, and a 58* that I use from firm sand and as a lob wedge. It's all personal choice based on your strengths and courses you play.

I hit Cleveland 56 & 60. My 56 I hit 100 yards on the nose, 60 is 60-70 yards.

As was pointed out, there's no right answer. I'd start with something generic and then look to modify it from there if something's not working out for you. For reference, my set is 47-51-56-60. The PW & GW are matched with my iron set (Mizuno MX-950) the SW & LW are Clevelad 588 with low bounce angles.

Currently have a PW (46*), 52*, 56*, and 58*.

A new wedge set will likely be my first purchase of next season. Looking to switch to 52*, 56*, & 60*.

Since you use your wedges regularly in full shots, I would make sure you don't leave a huge gap in distance from your PW and GW/SW.

Going from a 130yd PW to a 100-105 yd GW/SW is a huge drop.

if your PW is going 130, you need a properly fitted GW

gap wedge should perfectly bridge the gap between PW and SW, hence the name

mine is like

PW - 110
GW - 100
SW - 90

i can get more or less out of any of them, but those are the distances I like to hit them

I'm a fan of four wedges: 48 PW, 52, 56, and 60. Pretty standard set up with a 4 degree gap in each.

I probably need to have a 58 so I can hit the LW a little farther with a full shot, but choking down an inch on my 56 usually does the trick and keeps me from buying another stick.

I have always thought that if your an average player, I wouldn't try to get too technical with wedges, especially with bounch. It really all depends on the course conditions, your natural angle of attack, and what kind of shots you like to play.
