The only scary thing about Pierre is that when he's in on 3rd downs, defenses most likely know it's either a screen or some quick pass. If they do, however, use PT the way they use Ingram..... it'd have the same effect we just saw last night.

The deep passing plays were not a coincidence

All of this, especially the bold. I, admittedly had given up on Ingram. I wasn't very pleased with the pick either, BUT he appears to have figured things out (finally).

While I am happy for him and believe he should get a shot as the feature back, we all need to remember that Green Bay has a Turrible run defense!

He does give us a hard nosed runner like Khiry, but with more agility to make people miss when needed. His vision is infinitely better than any other point in his young career.

And as stated above, his hard running style along with his ability to make people miss, forces the safeties to creep up closer to the LOS. This will help the passing game tremendously.

The problem I see with RB by committee, is the playcalling becomes more predictable based on the personnel. We run with Ingram and pass with Pierre(broad generalization, obviously not every time). I think teams are able to lock on that better and it takes away from both the run game and play action.

I've been saying this all year

If payton doesn't see it now he never will. Guy is stubborn for better or worse

If ingram sees a full workload on Thursday, I have confidence we're going to the playoffs and not just to get buttfricked in round 1

we ran well at philly last year on the road in the playoffs. not bad at seattle either if i recall.run game on the road is ESPECIALLY key. keeps other offense off the field and keeps our d fresh. eats clock. takes crowd out as well. drew is almost unstoppable when we commit to the run like we did last night.

Yep. The PT screens seem to get sniffed out quickly when we play a quality D.

In fairness, after 24 carries on Sunday night, I don't think we should be giving him a full workload Thursday night, but I agree in general, I'd love to see him get a standard 20 or so carries per game.

the best game Thomas had was when he was used so much the defense wasn't sniffing shite out

and that was against the vaunted tampa D and we barely squeezed by

BELL COW TIME

in dallas last year he had daylight everywhere and didn't need to do anything to "earn" his yards (though he was still just as good as he is now)

Last night, his yards were earned

breaking tackles
dragging players
moving the pile
making cuts in the open field
bouncing to the outside

He was incredible...green bay's run defense gives the cutback run because Matthews and peppers overpursue, he was running right up the gut and trucking haha Clinton dix, and moving the pile to where a green bay defender got in front, but with his back to the pile and was desperately pushing back...it was so easy for him

He won't do that every week, but you see what the threat of ingram will do for our play action pass...on the 4th and 2, every single GB player was down on the LOS, as they were for many plays...We do that every game, even to marginal effect, and we're one of the toughest outs in the NFL

Give me Robinson as the featured back 5.2 ypc with double ingrams carries

Robinson over Ingram??? Come on man be serious.. Ingram has got to be the feature back from here on out and yes give Robinson some carries to spell Ingram on each series but Ingram should receive at least 15 to 20 a game

I'd like to see PT get a few plays a game and Robinson get 3-4 carries to mix things up, but Ingram should be in on the vast majority of plays, both run and pass.

I would love for Sean to break tendency and have him as a featured back instead of RBBC.

to do what exactly? telegraph plays? I'm not saying ingram should get 100% of the carries, but close to it.

I can take the hit in the screen plays if ingram is chewing up yards and defenses are putting the extra man in the box

what is wrong with you people? I've been saying this for 2 years and last night we finally see the effect it has on our offense AND defense (because offenses feel they must score every possession)

we don't need to find a way to get 3 backs involved. We need to feed ingram and stop getting in his way with cadet motions...there should be 3-5 touches a game that don't go to ingram and 5-10 snaps a game where ingram isn't the runningback on the field

when will it be clear that ingram brings a different and much more crucial dimension then these other guys

payton needs to stop fricking around and let ingram tote it until his legs fall off.

we all agree that the offensive numbers are there but the consistency is not, that's because we've been fricking around with ways to get lesser running backs involved

If Ingram can put up performances like last night on a consistent basis you keep PT on the bench.

I said Ingram should be the feature back and should be in on the vast majority of plays. But he's not going to be in on every play. That's just not going to happen. Khiry can give him 2-4 "breather" carries a game.

PT can be in on 3-4 pass plays a game in protection or in the flat. The rest should be all Ingram.

I don't know how Gaylord PFF rated him, but ingram was the man in pass protection last night. khiry or pierre 2-4 a game sure, but no more of this specialty garbage.

My man!

I think PT is probably the back that needs to be in the game when we're trying to catch up or move the ball down the field on that last drive or before the half because he's soooo good at pass blocking and catching the ball and creating plays. The man just gets first downs.

Any other plays? The meat and potato plays? That has to be Ingram.

opposing defenses need to think any and every play can be a meat and potatoes play, so you keep ingram in.

was ingram playing with his dick last night?
