lizard id help. op updated with pic

Need help with a lizard id. No pics yet but working on it.

Its about 6 inches. Black/dark purple irridecence. Almost like a damn artificial bait. Around my house I've seen two

Here is a pic of a dead one. He's been there a while so hes lightened up. Imagine him black back.

Close. Solid black on back and fades to purple on feet

5 Line Skink or Broad Head Skink. Juvenile skinks have the yellow strips and iridescent blue tails. As the skinks mature the lines and blue tails fade. Mature males have large reddish heads while mature females are dark.

Definitely a skink as everyone said. Could be a coal skink but might just be the much more common five lined skink. Would be really cool if it's a coal skink.

How do you live in the south and not know what these are?

A many of those things have meet their make with a bow guy and a red ryder in my younger days
