I know it's been discussed putting Popeye's into gumbo but I'm wondering if anyone has tried putting Popeye's chicken into jambalaya.. Maybe at the end right before you serve it?

Or is this a terrible idea?

It might be ok if you're really trying to speed things up, but it's completely unnecessary. It would probably be better just using boston butt or temple meat and cooking it the old fashioned way.

I was thinking more like the fried chicken chunks would be delicious.

Fried chicken jambalaya.

If I'm putting it into boiling stock I wouldn't waste money on Popeye's.. The while point is tasting the breading which is why I would mix it in after its done.

I caught that. I'd just prefer the jambalaya pork. I guess if you made sure you had enough chicken that was fresh and deboned it and put it in the pot just before serving, it could be goo.

its not the only meat i'm putting in...just adding it for the flavor..rather than straight popeyes fried chicken in a box.

maybe the better approach is to just buy popeyes as well and keep it separate from the jambalaya.

Get a rotisserie chicken for the jam if you want to cut a corner or two.

Sounds like a one way ticket to Flavor Town on the Heart Attack Express.
