If I hookup a generic touchscreen monitor via mini-display port to HDMI from an iMac, will the touchscreen work? Wasn't sure about the compatibility. TIA

If OS X recognizes and allows the monitor to work, I don't see why the touch functionality wouldn't work either. After all, you can use Air Display to make your iPad a second monitor for your OS X machine, which also allows touch functionality in OS X via the iPad.

Personally, I am still not completely sold on the usefulness of touch screen functionality in a desktop environment.

This will be mounted to a wall in a small music room I'm building and will really only be used for viewing tabs, YouTube videos and spotify. I can use my trackpad and keyboard in there, just wasn't planning on having a surface to out them on.

Display works fine on anything. DVI/HDMI connection.

Touch didn't work. There are no drivers for OSX and it appears That no driver will be made
