HIGHLY addictive

No it's not. That's why it's scheduled the way it is. It's CAN BE addictive if you are predisposed to addiction or already have other chemical dependency issues.

There's not really a street market for Ambien just yet.

just posted how I use it, I don't take it often but when I do, oops wrong product, I just make sure that I allot 8hrs., I might get up to whiz once during that time, but pretty much sleep through, and wake up feeling great, not woozy or sluggish, has done well for me

This. I used to take it and at first I might wake up and find stuff like cracker crumbs and Reese's wrappers in my bed, and came to realize I was waking up and binge eating with no recollection. Finally one morning I woke up and found food and receipts showing I had gotten up and driven to a gas station in the middle of the night with no memory of it. I haven't taken it since

Umm....my wife was calling the pharmacy asking them to refill it 10 days early. Every month. And if she has other addictions, she is damn good at hiding them.

Friend took it for the first time...woke up to 6 gallons of milk on the kitchen counter, a blue ray player and a $800 Bill from Wal-Mart.

She was a 24yr old single female that lived alone. She had no recollection of that night, and went as far to reviewing the security tape at Wal-Mart.

Needless to say, she no longer takes it.

Friend of mine was having to take 3 every night because of the tolerance issue. Another friend of mine knew several people who drove and cooked in their sleep while on it.

They recently cut the recommended dose in half. It doesn't take much.

Pro: None

Con: Washing dishes in the washing machine instead of the dishwasher and not even realizing you've done it till the next morning.

shite's dangerous. Copious reports of amnesia with Ambien.

I have a doctor friend who would disagree with your stance on this. I get your argument about a street market for it, but I do know that it is being sold on the street much like Adderall and Oxy. Maybe not yet to the extent of those but that is mainly bec it knocks you the f out.

Your wife would be addicted to anything that she thought she could get away with. I am guessing she does all kinds of crazy shite. Like taking way too much ambien.

You didn't mention sleep hygiene, and that's usually the most helpful.

But in a young, otherwise healthy individual, it helps make you fall asleep but not stay asleep particularly well. And the quality of sleep does suffer, meaning many people that take it don't really find themselves any more well-rested other than being able to say "I got x hours of sleep" where "x> hours of sleep before ambien."

It's not a good long-term drug, particularly in the elderly, and it can essentially be considered a benzo (like Xanax), which is tied to a host of problems in the elderly.

As a young, otherwise healthy person, routine and sleep hygiene are best, then methods you have tried and failed, meaning it may be worthwhile to try something like Ambien. You don't face many side effects other than less restful sleep and possibly still some daytime somnolence.

Pros: You get more sleep

Cons: You get loopy and post crazy shite like this:
quote:

Beans, If I was having a major medical problem, and needed immediate assistance, would you come to save me, or make PIIHB jokes. I need to know, so I can decide if I would attempt to spoon with you, then lick a trail down the center of your breasts across your belly button, stopping for a while at your landing strip, before going lips and tongue first in to your soft, clean smelling lips, while flicking and munching on your precious bean, and diving deeper with my tongue into your :dirty region,

I consider it a wonder drug. I only take it when I'm ready for bed. It knocks me out and I suffer no ill effects the next day. No sluggish feeling. I try not to take it every night. I have taken it, sat in my easy chair to watch TV with the intention of heading upstairs until I felt sleepy, and woken up the next morning in the same chair. Amazing drug but I have read the horror stories.
